What’s the difference between the Optislick and polymer coated gear cables, and is it with the money?
Prior to my rear cable snapping I’d noticed what I think was the polymer coating (Ultegra) coming off around the cable guide at the bottom bracket gumming up the shifting a bit.

Budget-priced orange insulated jacket has arrived. Fit is a bit weird around the chest for me- like the shoulders are too close together, but I guess that's race fit? Built for hunched over t-rex types. Hopefully should be all good on the bike.

Used these in the past to get the euro tap hoses to fit. And then connected into a 15mm diameter isolating valve.

Judging by the patched plaster already up there I'm expecting to see a shady diagonal kink in the cabling as it is. Might actually make it safer

What are the rules about moving plug sockets? I’ve got to move this socket up and across (basically where I think it originally was). Am I supposed to get an electrician in?
Will involve a bit of chasing out and shortening the cable, maybe fitting a new back box as well.

A random question- there's an airbrick in my back room that seems to mostly vent into the back of a skirting board. Perhaps the very lowest quarter of it is venting into the floor joists.

Is there any reason it would be doing this, other than a bit of a bodge?

It looks like it's been added to the property as part of a renovation at some point. There's a damp proof membrane (plastic) that seems to wrap under the brick.
I can't work it out. The wall is a solid wall (10 inch) and the outside has been rendered- the airbrick is kind of tucked up behind the bottom of the render outside.
Obviously it's causing cold draughts, doesn't feel like a good idea just to block it up though.

What sort of pressures are people running on their Bromptons? I usually go rock hard but am starting to think I don’t need to with these Conti tyres.
A sidewall split on my front and I nursed around for a couple of days on lower pressure With a bodged tyre patch whilst waiting for a replacement to arrive. Didn’t really feel slower or worse at 65psi.

186 cm/ 6 foot 1 ish and the online sizing chart recommended a 58T!
Think it was actually pretty similar to my Genesis Equilibrium 60 in stack and reach- which has always been too big.
Got a bike fit and was recommended a 56T.
Fit is good (still tweaking at the moment) and there’s room for adjustment. Also means that I don’t have loads of spacers which I probably would have ended up with on a R size.
Get a bit of toe overlap more which I clearly never had on a giant equilibrium!

What tyres are people running on their Straels? I've currently got a set of Continental Grand Prix 4 Season 28s on mine, but not sure I'm making the most of the clearance etc. and should go bigger.

Have worked through the bedding in, checked headset and caliper centring and bolts. Rotor looks slightly out of true. Will probably have a crack at that and then cleaning pads and rotors.

Brake judder on the front disk- Is this caused by contaminant on the rotor?

(I thought I'd done an OK job bedding everything in at the start)

Thanks for the advice everyone. Bit the bullet, drilled a bit, bodged a bit (bar end out as a spacer) but I think it’s there.

I should have read the instructions first. Fairlight recommend drilling for the seat stay bridge fitting. Thanks for the help
