Hi gang,
I've just given notice at work because I'm going to spend a few months being a bike hobo around North America next year. Baja Divide dreams mean I'm pondering a frame swap from a Straggler to an Ogre... anyway, it's sell sell sell.

Email ella.wredenfors@gmail.com if you are interested in anything or want photos. Happy to do some deals on bundles, but please don't make ridiculously low offers, this is half of a collection 15 years in the making.
Suggested prices are mostly cheaper than second hand prices on Amazon (apart from when they've been listed as a penny.)
Would prefer collection in Manchester (since some of the Chris Ware stuff is fucking hench), though happy to post some of the smaller/normal sized books at buyers cost.

Made a very small podcast about the January jumble...
It’s a social event, where you hope to get a bit of beer money out of
it... Selling stuff you paid £100 for, for a tenner. If I go home wiith more money that I’ve come with I’m totally
distraught, because it means I’ve had a bad day. -

@Noice. I think it may be a 2008, based on the original paint work.

Price drop to £250
As pictured, changes from above spec (e.g. all stock + new brakes, tape and cables) are:
44t original chainring + fairly new kmc chain.
25mm conti four seasons - well used, but certain they've got life in them.
Bontrager saddle and Wellgo pedals - brand new (came with latest addition to the stable.)Collection/delivery in Manchester.
-
I can build the Singlecross up with original 44t chainring, newish chain and 25mm tyres if a SS commuter is more your thing. (Giving 44 x 20, C. 58 gear inches. Low but not mad.)
Can supply seatpost as well. So potential buyer would just need saddle and pedals.
Offers around £300, which seems high but hopefully reflects the £££ of brand new brakes, levers and freewheel. Will take a lower offer if you'll do the tinkering yourself.
Hope this bump is ok!

Selling most of two green bikes.

I need gears and suspension. -
£SOLD: 56cm Freshly powder coated (moss green) Fuji Track, with on one wheel set (fixed/fixed 18/16t) with good contition 23mm gatorskins, 44t gebhardt chainring on 165mm cranks, fitted with new shimano BB, headset could potentially need looking at by someone who understands headsets.
PRICE DROP TO £200: 54cm Specialised Singlecross (the green one) got off flebay for ~£300 and raced SSCX a few times.
Racing was lots of fun, but the nature of the local cross league courses and the nature of my beer gut just makes it a little too much hard work and I got myself a 29er with lots of gears.
Currently built as a commuter. Have ridden it to work and back for a friend to test ride, so confident that its good to go.
Original elements:
• Aluminium frame with carbon fork, original headset and seatpost collar
• 44t chainring and cranks
• Wheels, QR/bolt through axel,
• Stem and bars
Upgrades:
• New 20t freewheel and KMC chain
• New tektro cantilever brakes and levers
• New leopard print bar tape
• New Bontrager saddle and platform pedals
• Brandless but decent two bolt seatpost
• Used 25mm Continental 4 Seasons tyres.
The good:
• Takes mudguards and rack
• Can easily and cheaply change gear inches with new freewheel (~ £10)
• Lightweight bicycle with track ends, no faffing with chain tensioner or horizontal drop outs.
• I've run this with 41mm tyres, so you should be able to get chunky commuter tyres on there no problem.
The bad:
• Superficial wear and tear - It's 7 years old! Nothing drastic, and shouldn't be an issue if this this your commuter/pub bike.
• Don't know the state/provenance of headset or BB. Basically, they work, but could probably be smoother.
• One of the bottle cage bosses has been stripped (downtube). This can be fixed, plus there asre still have two more locations for bottle cages.
• Bar tape is a little scuffed. Can ship at your cost, though collection or delivery in Manchester preferred.

Just to confirm that you can fit 41mm Surly Knards on a Spesh Singlecross. #fucktheUCI

Advice needed -
Getting tattooed for the first time in ~ 8 years tomorrow. Hooray!
Tattoos will be on my calves/ankles.
I have CX race on Sunday. What'll be the best way to wrap my legs up and still be able to gallop about in the mud, since I'm assuming I won't want such new ink to get muddy... I'm guessing clingflim under leg warmers. Does anyone have better suggestion?

Raced in club kit for the first time this weekend at Heaton Park in Manchester. Second attempt at Cyclocross racing.
Had geared down to 38x20. Was still too high, so sniffing around for an even small chainset (since (I think) 38t is the smallest ring you can get for the 130bcd messengers that came with my Singlecross.)
Virtually last, and walked a bit, but still pretty happy with the effort. Threw myself up and down some muddy, rooty, camber-y bits that scared the pants off me. Too heavy and unfit, and wasn't aggressive enough at the beginning, but know what I can do to fix all that.
Had some fun little 'battles' with some of the other slower women, which I eventually lost through poor technique and unfitness. But... NEXT TIME!
Wonderful bit of karma as well - closely overtaken by a MTBer without a word on a wide grassy section. Shouted something like 'Oi, givus some warning next time!" ... and he promptly crashed. Right in front of the boyf, club marshalls and some other LFGSSers. Glorious.

'He'...
Got lots of complimentary comments racing yesterday... Especially from the 8 year old girls.
Yep, fork is fugly. Waiting to see if I can destroy it this season before thinking about upgrading.
For all its issues, the old Tricross was the cheapest, lightest option with track ends and canti-brake bosses.
{Yes, I am replying to very old comments about my bike.}

Aha! Single speeded my first ever Cyclocross race today - the Horwich Humdinger in Bolton. Got told I was crazy by a few people for doing it single speed, and at points would have agreed. The standard 42/17 that comes with a Spesh Singlecross is WAY too big, had to attack every lump and bump (howling) like a mad women.
Was the only SS in vets/women's race, think I was last or maybe beat one granddaddy. Going to gear right down before the next race at the beginning of October.

@Zed I've a Surly Straggler which I run SS for commuting, which put ideas of SSCX in my head... until I tried to pick it up. OK, it's got heavy ass 29er wheels on, but oh boy! She's a burly girl.
Ended up picking up a Singlecross cheap - are they shit? I suspect they are shit - with a view to getting muddy. Let's see how that goes...
