In the heat of summer you can to totally dry often in under a day.

I generally stick any paint jobs next to the radiator for a few days. When its well cooked I give it about 4 coats of clear and do the same again. I know a few paint shops around here who would stick a frame in with wheels or a car in their oven for free.

Worth a try asking, this should give even rattle finish a pretty tough skin.

I bought a Roberts 531 for my nephew last year, they are hard to find these child size racers but theyre defo out there!

42cm, they are a bit thin on the ground, try searching gumtree and ebay for childs racer.
They are generally around that size.

Good advice though - always have your good bike in sight, even if its just the tip of the saddle.

You might want to treat the are with a rust protection covering.

I would ride that no bother, as long as rust doesnt get at it you're sorted.

I have a nice holdsworth which I painted pink with hammerite, for a beater. No one goes near it...
