My Dad took his parents for afternoon tea at the Ritz after he finished his professional qualifications and I'd like to carry on the tradition. Neither of my parents are vegan so going somewhere which has vegan options rather than being solely vegan would be ideal.
Has anyone had any experience of the Vegan afternoon tea at the Ritz? It would be a surreal experience for a country bumpkin like me but one I'd like to undertake all the same.

Sounds like it could do with a service!
What makes you think the handlebars are upside down? Those are thumb shifters and not downtube shifters, they are meant to be like that and the set you've got looks like a half-decent pair!
Also, the 'spare wheel clamp' is meant to be there! It's a quick release for changing the height of the saddle when offroading, most riders would lower the seat before a technical downhill section!

Here's the bike with the new saddle, seatpost and guards installed. Guards still need adjusting, I used an old downtube shifter as a mount on the seatube, just need a longer bolt and more spacers to make the guard sit right.
Also need to drill out the rivets and attach flaps on the rear end of each guard and maybe one on the front end of the rear guard to fill the void? Will probably just cut up an old tyre for it, or maybe ass-saver material would be better?
Any suggestions for keeping the front end of the front guard down?

Yeah that was my initial thinking. I'm just finding it hard to justify spending ~£70 on bar end shifters when the bike itself cost me half that. I do have some very similar mudguards on order too!
It's a cool bike, it's old, it's pretty much all there but it isn't particularly special/ high end. I can see this turning into a fairly rad pub bike.
I'm tempted to just install a silver, more classic looking quill stem and some bars, either wider flat bars or something sweepy and relaxed, this way I can use the original brake levers and shifters!

I guess not! Here's the link for the press release over 12 months ago.

I'm supposed to be doing the Two Ton tour tomorrow so thought I'd squeeze in time to replace the cables on my Shimano Ultegra 6700 groupset.
As I peeled back the lever hoods I noticed that the screws that held the inner door on the left-hand shifter were loose and as the hood was rolled back, the door jettisoned off onto the floor. As it did this the little silver tab popped out of position and now will not go back in. Later on, the small spring also fell out.
After some google and shimano manual searching, I have found nothing helpful. The exploded view for the shifters from shimano is not detailed enough for this part of the shifter!
Any help would be really appreciated as at this rate I will not be attending the Two Ton Tour!
