I did all this myself and never paid anyone. The reading to get up to speed was a bit formidable, and the fear that I might land up in jail for doing something wrong was fairly high at first, but after I got the hang of it it was fairly simple. You can buy a book of share certificates - just keep track of who gets which, and which ones are cancelled. The tax office seemed to change their requirements every two or three years, but if you send it all in early, and it's wrong, they'll just send it back with a note, and you change it.
Plenty of people will do it for you, and charge you big money for it.

Since we are telling statin stories…
I’m a prime candidate for them, fair enough, but I started sleep walking, going to my bookcase in the living room, pulling out a random book and eating the front page! We only found out when we started finding ruined books.
So I don’t take them now. I’m trying to do more risky activities to compensate.

even more respect - I thought your partner must have been Catalan, why else would you move there and learn the language?
The whole Valencian / Catalan / Castellano / Español thing is fascinating to me. We live in a Valencian stronghold, but didn't realise this when we moved here - friends, neighbours, their young kids, all speak valencian as a first language. A lot of people are happy for it to be a dialect of Catalan, others will argue vehemently that it's the opposite way around. Some of our older "veins" barely speak castellano. And god forbid you call it Español!!
