Physical exercise has been a life saving relief from depression for me,
Riding my bike predominantly, I struggle daily with PTSD brought about by the loss of my 13yo son to suicide, the shock of the event left me trying to bite out my wrists in a psychiatric unit and there isn't a day goes by since that I don't miss him and tear myself to pieces over his loss,
I too struggle with my body clock, sometimes I'm almost completely nocturnal, the solace and quiet of the night is often all I can bear, I ride a lot at night too, good lights and earbuds and just the night creatures for company, I always feel better in myself for getting out though,
It's the initial step of actually getting my kit on and leaving the house thats the hardest step, but it is doable, you can do it, theres something spritually rewarding about riding alone at night too, feels kind of special, priviledged,
I work on my bikes at night as well, planning and working quietly so I dont piss the neighbours off, noisy jobs are planned out for dawn/dusk, have a look at my thread in this section,
I feel for you, genuinely, and only seek to encourage you to ride and take on projects,
I can't offer any help with the ME but I know the black dog of depression intimately,
You've got this, walk it through, start small and build, and try not to be too hard on yourself if you take a break, roll over it and get back out there,
Feel free to message me if you ever want a chat,Joe.

Thanks,
I sold a lot of it, I'll pick a copy of the Jon Hassell up and have a listen,
I kept, all my favourites he used to play, David Darling, Jan Garbarek, Ralph Towner etc,
I found a letter about Eberhard Weber from ECM in one of the sleeves and framed it,
He used to go to a lot of the concerts ECM put on, I got dragged along,
We went to see The Hilliard Ensemble with Garbarek at Sheffield Cathederal, before we went in he let me smoke a large joint in his car, little did he realise, he was actually passively smoking it too, we were both stoned as judges through the whole concert, was incredible, -

Another forum user spotted my hifi in the background of another post and suggested I post some pics of it,
My old man was a lifelong audiophile nut, dragged me all over the country to hifi shows and shops as a kid, he was disabled so couldn't carry the boxes of stuff he bought,
We were at a hifi show in Harrogate, I must've been 11-12 at the time, was almost at the end of the day, he was busy listening to something and I wandered into the Naim room,
The guy from Naim treat me just like any other moneyed customer and gave me a full demo of their show rig, played Bomb The Bass full blast for me several times, and it left a lasting memory I guess,After the old man passed away he left me his collection of ECM records so I set about building a little rig he'd approve of,
I'm not much of an audiophile so went for form over function, I just bought what I found the prettiest,NAC 72-NAP 140-HiCAP serviced at Classe-A and upgraded by Avondale just up the road from me,

Thank you,
Someone asked me about grief the other day, he asked me how I cope with my sons suicide,
I told him it was about the simple acts of human kindness,
They keep me going, I try to pay them on by working voluntary at a local homeless project, every night that I get home I look at my post modernistic bullshit pseudo industrial Patrick Bateman home and thank my lucky stars, I'm doing ok, it is what it is,
So thank you, and I hope you're doing ok too x -

I haven't collected them yet, I think they sold out pretty quickly to the Hope fanboys, I am one, I'll admit,
I'm the same about the graphic, and same with the lever, the tech 3 is great but not really designed for folk with hands like mine,I'll go through my photos and put some more up, I'm conscious of over-doing it with the posts,

Last one,
This was for sale cheap on FB marketplace, was in a right state,
Stripped it down, binned most of the finishing kit, rattled canned it, some eBay stickers,
Wiggle sale for the other bits it needed, what can I say, the black dog was in, I needed a little project to keep me from the razors, fuck knows what I'll do with it, -
-
And this lovely Bob Read,
Was on Ebay for pennies so I bid and won it, drove to Donny to collect and it turned out that the old guy that raced it for years had passed away and his nephew just wanted rid of it and was clearing the old lads house out,
He gave me a pile of NOS parts and wheels and stuff, sold most of it, so the bike needed up being free,
Was klarted with oil , dust and cobwebs,
Complete strip down, thorough clean and rebuild, new tape for the bars and a era correct-is saddle from the bay, t-cut the paint and waxed with high end carnuba,
Tyres still held air,
Had a little custom name sticker made with the owners name on,
Reg Nichols R.I.PWelcome to the fleet of grief,
I might hang myself next week so who knows,
It is what it is.
