You cant take them out! They hold the dropout ends to the frame. You just loosen them slightly And than adjust the rear wheel in a straight line to the front wheel and aus close as possible to the seat stay. Please leave a "Finger" of space, because the rim and tube need some space to move on up.

Well, they are for adjusting the rear wheel, so You Need some fresh ones. Same Problem likewise the rubber grommits, available only in Italy ( Original ones) or You go to Wall Mart😆

The Short cut overall, incl. the rear dropout is significant for the Compact Frame! It needs some practice to ride it freehands. But therefore you need the Fork first.... Here are two pictures of a First Generation (1988) Fork with Panto And decals

And, what about the adjustable dropouts , the rubber plugs of the brake-cable ( toptube) are they complete, all Original aso?! You cant get no spares!

First ride after 2 years of rebuild - la super bici

I got two complete Gios-Bikes to offer!

1. a 1988 Gios Compact with full Campagnolo Super Record, Size 54 (I guess)
   
2. a very very tall Gios Professional, Size 65, with Campagnolo Super Record (Rear derailleur Record)
   Both in original Gios-Blue with decals and shield from the First owner in a very good condition. In case of interest, send me your questions And offers.

Attention! For Details regarding the repaint of your Frame/s please contact Mario Gios ahead of it. You can send the frames down to Italy BUT you've to pay And pick it up down there! Due to contract regulations , I suppose, between Gios Italy and Gios Taiwan, Italy is not allowed to export any goods.

Colin is totaly right! To get a Second opinion send the pictures to Gios in Italy. Do not sandblast the Frame to get the powdercoating off. Give him an acidbath. To my opinion it is a Last Generation Frame of the SR with a welded mount for the Front derrailleur And golden Coins.
