Because it is a 'nice' climbs chaining.
It forces to take the first climb from a 'different' environment (some riders did gravel route to save a few kilometers) and ends in Segovia (a nice medieval city)
It is a tribute to the mountains of Madrid, the riders will be able to offer you a better opinion/answer

it's between both, that's why in the teaser we used both.
There are good roads, smooth pads, but also there are some rocky areas (into the forest), so there are better in a MTB or 45mm tires. If you are looking to race it, it's better a Gravel Bike, if you want to enjoy an be comfy, maybe a rigid MTB is better.
I did all almost 2 times with panniers and 650x47 tires without problems.
In a couple of fast areas, I needed to go carefully, but also because i been with a camera and a lot of stuff. hehe -

Transiberica is organizing a new gravel race in the north of Spain
Basajaun is ‘the Lord of the Forest’. A mythological guardian of the most virgin and remote forests in Basque Country. Protector of the flocks. Share history with other mythological characters from other cultures such as ogres, trolls, and yet.
The name was chosen because it keeps the essence of this route, combining the values of ‘the protector’ of the environment with the aridest lands a few kilometers from it.
You can watch a teaser:

The buses are limited to 3 bikes not limit room for them If you have it in a cardboard box or a plastic bag it's enough (but normally they charge for 10€ for the bike).
If not you have the train, it's free for the bike and has cheaper tickets (4€ instead of 10-15€) but takes 2h45min.The buses takes around 1h 1h15min

Yes, I do, and I died!
It's a double suspension or well-doted MTB.
I just bought an OIZ double suspension bike, but 490€ for a SOLO entry and similar or same track, made me think twice.
