Ready! The work ends at last. Many months collecting little pieces and components ... The result is documented in these photographs of Pedro Cardoso of Fotografamos http://www.fotografamos.com/ .
All photos Pedro presented here are in film, except the first and the last. I love the kind of image made possible only by the analog. The vintage look that convey , in line with the concept designed for RRo1 : A vintage steel frame also with modern components of current performance. Now the training is another...

All Images shoot in Ílhavo Maritime Museum and Codfish Aquarium.
I Highly recommend a visit in a passage around. Very worthwhile, by the estate and architecture ! -

Here it is!! 1"threadless carbon fork!
I had to put an adaptador/spacer to the 1.1/8 thomson stemtesting Procraft bartape...
the fork on the right place and i think it looks awesome!!
and how about the white logo in pink? the white is under the varnish and i don´t want to modify that so i tested a pink sticker...A few weeks ago it looks like this. I get sram cables and housing and completed the groupset with the apex crankset in 53-39T. I wanted the old apex model with the arms more"opened" but this one of 2014 is very cool too!!

I have some questions in my mind about the frame... the seller told me it was part of a several frame that he ordere to an italian builder and he gave me a pink sticker "cromolly - Doppio Spessore" i never saw one sticker like that and i saw other frames with similar tubes...
What a hell is my frame from?! it's a 53 size and 1950grs powder coated painted frame... I saw Massi, Look or Marin identical but in Columbus Brain...

I found this SRAM Apex on second hand. I love it since i start thinking about this bike so i abandoned the idea of 105. The Mavic Aksium Race wheelset is also on 2nd hand...

I ordered a few things more to the puzzle. Thomson 27.2 seatpost, Minoura black botle cages...
The thing is getting real... I'm sorry for my english... I'll try to do my best.
The photos are chronologically posted. I allready posted this conversation on another forum (PT) during that year and a half so here i have to adapt the posts. -
For many months I discovered on a local bikeshop a Columbus Cromolly frame only in primary paint . Had fork...
His seat stays junction to TT were different from the usual and weights 1950g . It appears from the beginning of the 90's.
Never had a road race bike unless the 80's portuguese national old ladies of my father or my uncle ...
There i had the basis for my Road Race Bike ! RR01!I have lately ride a lot ( MTB and SS commuting) and even work in some bicycles . I ride continuously since i was a litle kid, daily. I have several bikes but in practice there is a need to bridge the fault in my world of bikes : a real road race.
Over the months I was collecting little pieces and some components . Screws , adapters, Selle Italia Flite Titanium saddle, compact FSA handlebar and headset, and SPD Shimano pedals. The wheels are a Mavic Aksium Race that I bought used and took the stickers. I have Hutchinson Equinox 2 tires. The frame was recently powder coated in glossy black and I'm studying a short and subtle decoration that will be in matte pink and black vinyl.
I start this a long time ago. About an year and a half. And i thought about a complet Shimano 105 groupset or a SRAM that was my favourite... Maybe Apex.

Hello from Portugal.
I've been arround reading and learning from all of you.
I want to share with you one of the bikes that i "made".I ride since 4 years old. My first bike was a BMX 16".
At 9 my grandpa gave me a SS 27" with mudguards and a rear rack and was my daily bike to school and rides till 20 when some suckers stole it from a city parking. I use to do some crazy MTB with her in early 90's. In 98 i bought a real MTB: a Sunn Xircuit, i still ride her to the limit actualy. She's repainted and renewed... but i was missing that SS! In Portugal we call it "saudade"!I put hands to work I bought a cheap road bike from a nacional constructor and i dismounted her, repainted her and rebuild her with some new components and others recovered.
I hope you enjoy the SS01. By now with coaster brake and with 52x18T.
I am using her to go to work and for daily stuffs, though not ideal but before i start with the new road bike project (R.UN01) i also use her to training when i can't go to forest and mountain tracks on MTB.
I will soon present you my R.UN01, she will be a Columbus all black road bike made by my alterego COXE
You can see some things i'm doing on my blog with bikes: http://www.vermelhossangue.blogspot.pt/search/label/bikes
