No worries, but yeah, always best to keep things cordial.
In our last gaff the neighbour's apple tree overhanged our garden so much that it blocked all the light, I popped round and told him we were going to get someone in to cut it back to boundary and offered to get them to do anything he needed at the same time.
He ended up asking to have the tree trimmed right back on his side as he was struggling to look after it as he got older, result all round and happy neighbourly relations achieved.

Tell him to do one.
If it's on your property there's nothing he can do. He can trim back the bits that cross the boundary line but that's about it.
I'd ask to see the problem, but I think it would a decision between you and your neighbour.
Edit - you're supposed to notify your insurers if you have a tree causing damage to a neighbouring property.

Dose shitty sexism abuse etc happen in the Media because everyone is a Freelance?
No, not everyone is freelance, freelancers generally have more freedom to say what they think but you're not part of the machine so you're not going to take this to HR.
The problems in TV are a result of the 'talent' being treated like superstars, some people understand it's all bollocks and complete luck they're in the position and others start to believe their devine right to rule.
There are plenty of industries with the same power dynamics and problems but they're not beamed into your home everyday

When I cancelled a few years back I told them it was because they did too many comedy beers, the guy on the phone didn't have an answer for that and the call lasted about a minute.
