I replaced the fork on my pompino with a surly lht 700c canti fork. Not only made it fitting a pelago rasket a lot easier, it also gives way better fender clearance. Geometry is pretty much the same, i like it a lot.

Used to swear by them as well untill i lost balance in a muddy field in France. The strap broke and i slid out of my crocs, making me immediately go down. Bent my derailleur and broke my chain. Still my favorite camp shoes though.

As a side sleeper i found the nemo fillo to be a great pillow for bikepacking.

Get custom made ear plugs that are made for sleeping. Works better then anything else I've tried. Really comfortable and block out better then anything else. Mine are pluggerz custom sleep

I just bought hebie mudguards for my partners 26" bike. I got the hebie rainline, which go up to 68mm for 26". They looked a bit better then the standard bluemels but i haven't gotten around to installing them.

Have you looked at the contec La Baguette magique? I put them on my partners bike and they love them. 70mm rise, 35° backsweep and 660mm wide. 31.8mm clamp though.

If you're going to put a basket on it, you might as well go for the bontrager rack. What i like about proper lowrider racks is that you can put an extra kickstand on the front rack. That would make it a lot easier to park your bike and save you a lot of stress in hectic moments.

I've got the previous version of these on my salsa fargo, the bluemel 75 U. These are the same shape as the edge al, but made out of plastic. The stays and mounts are great, the same system as the edge al fenders. Really easy to adjust and super solid. The mudflaps do look a bit odd though. Apart from esthetics these newer SKS fenders are hard to beat.

I don't know what kind of bin lorry is used where you live, but as a bin man in the Netherlands, i strongly doubt that it was your bin that was too heavy. I have had bins that were filled with cowshit and the lorry had no issue lifting these. Sounds more like the bin lorry had a technical malfunction. Would explain why they left the other bins in your road and drove off.

The only difference between working class and what people suppose middle class means, is having higher wages i guess? Is middle class the accomplice class of the capitalist class? That would make a bit more sense to me, but then few would consider themselves middle class i guess.

I use the old lht rimbrake 700c fork. Same axel to crown and offset as the stock pompino fork so it's a great match. Rides a lot better then the original fork, gives proper space for fenders and has mounts for racks.

Van Schothorst is Dutch and you can still buy their wheels. Not sure if they still make their own hubs though.

I like the sks edge fenders. Solid and affordable, much better then the sks bluemels.

Really need a l or xl pomp, but this works as well.

Thanks! I have to push the bag down a bit to make the quick release fit. My camper longflap only has soft items in it's main compartment, so that's no issue at all for me. The support struts stop the bagman from flexing, otherwise it would flex quite a bit with a fully loaded camper longflap.

The longflap is great, but when you use it to fit a tent underneath like i did, make sure to strap it to the dowel. I didn't and lost my tent up in the mountains. Only realized the bag slipped out when i was down in a valley trying to set up camp while pouring down.
