Anyone using some Hoka Bondi 8?
I went for them because they were the sturdiest of the tarmac range.
I'm less than 70kg with a backpak, use them to commute 12 rolling km each day.
The sole is going at the heel after 8 months, not much left at the front.
I never ran on tarmac before, I'm not fast,30 min for 6km.
I was expecting a year out of those shoes.
Is this normal? -

You seemed set on sailing towards St Tropez,
when all the more secluded islands past Porquerolles were so close!
Porquerolles was protected since the 60's, it's a national park.
It's nice to hear it still shows even with a lot of traffic.I'd love to sail to Corsica ,
I red a bit about it,
it seems to be either very very slow, or brutal.Another dream crossing is from the Tuscany coast to Corsica.
It seems dotted with tiny islands when standing on top of the peaks close to the eastern shore.
In summer, the Italian coast is hazy but the Alps are clearly silhouetted across the horizon.
Seems like Puffin territory to me. -
This is my third set of Hutchinson Overides.
I pushed this one to it's last throes, the internals are visible on many patches,
I was less confident with the previous ones.
They coped with 2 winters of ski touring in the Alps and Sancy , and one in the rocky south.
Only 2 punctures , a giant screw , and a fresh metal burr ; both sealed easily with an anchovy.
The only downside is that I needed a compressor to set them back up for last third of the lifespan of the last set.
Gone upmarket with some strada bianca recently, very difficult to set up. -

I check the thread from time to time, so dreamy!
Please go an check the islands next, Levant, Port Cros.
Beware of military exclusion areas.
I would avoid the Riviera this time of year.
I hope you checked French naval regulations, checks are numerous this time of year.
Signals, lighting, coms, don' t anchor in neptune grass areas.

I bet shutting down is costly financily .
