Ha! Yeah I thought that too about the chainring thing (wasn't really intending to sell put it up for sale when I took the photo a while back & it hasn't been out of the bike shed since).
Re the gatorskins I think I get where you're coming from - although as you can see, i'm not trying to make it too period correct or anything, just like to mix the best of old / new. I find they roll faster & more puncture proof than any old school tyres, but each to their own I guess. Same with the wheelset, groupset etc, they're just lightweight & work well for me...

De Rosa Casanova complete bike

Thought I’d throw this out there & see if there’s any interest – not desperate to sell it to be honest (will be gutted!), but it’s a shame to see it sitting around not getting much use at the minute – in fact has only been out for a couple of dry Sunday rides since it was fully restored, so it’s pretty much in new condition. I tend to use my scruffy bike as I’m too scared to bring this out in fear of it getting nicked / damaged!

Stem: ITM
Pedals: Shimano 105 SPD
Tyres: GatorskinIt’s a very lightweight, stiff, responsive but also comfortable ride, handles fantastically. Lots of De Rosa pantographing & stunning lugwork (especially the stunning 'webbed' bottom bracket design), chromed forks & chainstay, internal routed rear brake cable, really beautiful. I've had a few nice vintage steel frames over the years including Colnago, Pinarello, Tommasini, Merckx, and have to say this is my favourite of them all & the last to let go.
The model is a casanova, original paintwork can also be seen in the dropbox link. It was professionally re-sprayed to an amazing standard at Bob Jackson Cycles in Leeds in black enamel (with a nice subtle metallic sparkle in the light). The small pantographed hearts have been carefully enamelled in red. Original de rosa decals applied. Please note, the frame was in great condition before the re-spray, I was just not keen on the flamboyant pink/purple colour scheme.
Everything running nice & smooth. All components functioning perfectly, frame is straight, no dents, cracks, rust etc., wheels spinning smooth & true. I’ve spent a lot of time & expense making this bike absolutely perfect in every way (in my eyes anyway!).
The only thing different from the photo’s is that I’ve changed the saddle over to a brown B17 narrow saddle (as new) which I felt went better with the brown leather bar tape.
I’m looking for £1250 (well under what I’ve spent on it!) – no splitting & not open to any offers below this as I’d rather hold onto it for now if no interest.
No posting, collection only (London)

Wheels:
Campagnolo Chorus/Record wheelset - was £195, now £185, now £175
Campag Chorus/Record hubs laced to Mavic Open Pro clincher rims with Sapim spokes. Hand-built by Harry Rowland. 700C. 36 spokes front & rear. Spacing 100 / 130mm. Includes 8 speed freehub (I can throw in the 8 speed campag cassette below if required) + genuine campag skewers. Bought these off the forum a while back for £200, then spent a further £40 having them serviced & trued, so have clearly spent way too much on them! Great set of wheels though...

Any chance we can just ban lamajdi (Jamal Durrant-Inniss) above now - he's had £125 off me a few weeks ago & no response since. He's known to the forum as a scam artist in the past:
http://www.lfgss.com/thread48164-218.html (bottom of this page)
http://www.lfgss.com/thread48164-219.html (top of this page)Would be good to at least make it slightly less easy for him to rip more people off in the future & warn people not to deal with him if his name pops up again with a different username.

Sorry for the slow response, I've been away for a couple of weeks - just a heads up to forum members I've also heard nothing from lamajdi (Jamal) since sending payment for the garmin edge above & haven't received anything in the post. Have pm'd & emailed him just now.
I've noticed there have been a few disputes over other stuff he's selling (see below), but hopefully there's a good reason for the delay & lack of contact
