The more gears the better. I bought a fixed gear when I lived in Sheffield and regretted it almost immediately. Everything is uphill
There's some unreal roads in the peaks that you can enjoy with gears.

Sat in my girlfriend's garage for the last few years, but it's in great condition for its age. Brakes work, gears change, wheels are true. Tyres are perishing and will probably need replacing but otherwise, it's in decent condition, could do with a service to get it running 100% but it's ready to ride away today.

Luggage rack on the back, would make a great commuter or pub bike.
