Having grown up in Colchester and with parents who still live there, would strongly steer away from a return for your folks
The town is entirely adequate, as it’s always been, but the house prices are absurd given the very minimal vibes you get for your money. It’s in the process of becoming a proper London dormitory town without the core infrastructure to support the expansion that brings.

Brooks rereleased this old design about 10 years ago cos it was popular with Breezer etc in the early MTB days. So when one popped up on eBay I got v excited, forgetting I have a tiny sparrow butt and that wide saddles are my worst enemy.
Anyway, cool lightly used saddle with the adapter for modern 2 bolt posts. After £65 posted to get back what I paid

Photo to follow, but would anyone have use for a 1937 Raleigh Sports frameset? Total pig iron and long past original (powder coated black some years ago). 21 inch frame so way too small for me but if someone fancies a base for a path racer ish project would be happy to pass it on for free. Will grab some photos soon but it's sat for the best part of 10 years

Guards are on (thanks again other Tom!) and we’re just a seatpost away from the build being complete… once it’s altogether I’ll get a proper photo shoot
For now, please enjoy this photo I dug out from January 2018 of the LHT mid first build - I like that I have a very clear history of the bike from frameset to today, which is one of the many reasons I’ll never let it go!

@Polygon that’s so sick - basically the exact vibe I’m going for. The GB guards would be a godsend too, been debating on mudguards so will drop you a message. And I’ve not heard of those rides so will look em up!
@vthejk it’s getting quite thin now - the Moulton and the Surly are core, the Langster will likely last the winter before it needs proper money spending on it, and otherwise there’s a few frames I’ll hang onto

Howdy folks - long time no updates. A whole bunch of classic Life Stuff has come up, so there’s going to be a bunch of changes in the next 6-12 months. The downside of that is I’ve had to get pretty ruthless with the bike collection, paring it down as far as I can.
The upside is that I’ve now got a very good reason (tbc) to build the LHT back up. Still a work in progress and some bits to follow but here’s a preview…

Down to the bottom of the hoard and there’s still more to go. Prices include postage from Cardiff
Gilles Berthoud 700c 40mm mudguards - £withdrawn - no idea why I have these but they’re nearly new. Rear has been drilled and stay fitted so must’ve tested these out on something at some point. Includes other stay and full fitting kit
Shimano MT200 hydros - 72cm front, 125mm rear - £27 - probably my third set of these for some reason. Minimally used, front hose a little flattened at the lever end but perfectly functioning. Can include some spare pads and a set of TRP 160mm 6 bolt rotors for a tenner.
Shimano Deore M615 brakes - 75cm front, 115cm rear - £23 - kinda ratty but functioning well.
Halo Clickster 16T 3/32 - £25 - minimal use so running nicely.
Ryet 3D printed saddle 148mm - £17 - carbon railed Aliexpress special, so no guarantees of quality given!

This was meant to be heading north to Vandal Metalworks, but I’ve simply not had the time or energy to source a box. So now offering up for collection in Cardiff. What’s the catch?
Well, this was one of my favourite builds ever until it went weirdly wrong. Lost my keys in a lift shaft (!) so this was left locked up in central Cardiff for a week while I waited for a new lock key. Sometime in that week the bike got a bit of a kicking of some sort, so now the rear triangle is out of whack and the rear wheel sits too close to one of the chain stays. You can technically correct for this with the horizontal dropouts but even then it rides like poo - on a tight geo frame like this any misalignment is painfully obvious when riding.
The good news for me was that my insurance paid out in full (hello Moulton), but the whole thing was still crap just cos this is such a good frame.
As it’s an insurance write off I can’t sell it without doing a fraud, and the insurer has given me permission to dispose of it as I see fit, so most of the bits have already been passed on for free. I’m now looking to move the frameset, Prolite wheels and tyres onto a new home where hopefully someone is willing to spend a bit to get it repaired and back on the road.
BB is Italian so I’ll include the one that’s already fitted, and headset is also kinda specific as the stack height is silly short.
57cm seat tube, 55cm top tube - and an example of it built up is included too.
I’d love it if the new owner felt compelled to make a small donation to a good cause to make a sad story a bit happier. I really like Jewish Voice For Peace or Mazon Canada (a sick leftie Jewish food granting charity doing mad good work), but this is very optional.
Again no postage right now, so come collect it so I stop having to look at it and feel sad.

Sold to @tornadohenry - may this be the last passing of the parcel before the thing gets ridden!

I’d say a smallish/medium ass or beyond really - I’m as birdboned as they come (178cm but only 67kg when moderately unfit) so I have no idea why I thought this would be a good idea. Brooks has a handy diagram showing the width - note as with all leather saddles they now inwards so the width isn’t comparable to synthetic ones as such
