Yeah, you´re probably right. Crossing in angle is already what I do, when I don´t I get stuck in the track, slippery or not ;)
Guess I´m just after a decent tire for a ok price that isn´t absolutely louse when it´s wet. I´m leaning towards gatorskins at the moment. Would love to try out the GP 4-seasons, but they´re out of my budget... And then maybe something more rigid for the winter... It gets a bit snowy / icey here.

Ah, cool. Acronyms, never get them...
(also think ihpbot is acronym for self-learning irc bot, which made it all more confusing ;))FYI, got that one. Rest of em wasted on me...
But thanks for input. To be honest the puncture thing is not that important to me, don't get many of them. Mostly want a good tyre for wet and darks conditions, that looks good. And not too expensive... Any favorites?

hi,
looking for a good tire for my autumn / winter beater.
Rims inner width is 13mm, hoping I´l b able to get 28mm tires on there.I´m after a tire that grips well when wet, and I also like the thought of reflective sides. I guess I´m after something with a bit of tread but still rolls well.
Been looking at Vittoria Randos 28c. They seem to be everything of the above. Just about to buy em when I was offered a pair of Schwalbe Marathons plus at the same price as the Vittorias. Which is I guess a good deal if the marathons is what you´re after. But are they what I´m after? When reading about them they seem very heavy ?
Anyone who has tried both who want to share their opinion?
Any other tips for good tires that fits my criteria? (grips well, rolls well, reflective sides, not too heavy...) I would prefer not spending more than £40...
Thanks!

Hello!
Thinking of buying a v-sprint wheelset
http://www.v-sprintwheels.com/pages/tra ... ustom.htmlThe wheels are supposed to get my autumn beaterproject rolling. I´d like to be able to put on some wider tires, at least 28mm. Maybe even wider. However on the v-sprint webpage it says:
700c x 18c - 23c.And this is perhaps a newbie question: the 18-23 menas recommended tire width, right?
Anyone who has experience of using wider tires on these rims?
Thanks in advance!

At the moment Ive got Shimano FH-HG50, Exage 500EX, hyperglide. But I think I´ve decided to not put these wheels on my bike. Quite happy with the current 7spd. Might consider swapping if I found original wheel set with 6spd freewheel though.
Still considering buying the wheel set though. Just to give it som shine and sell it for a profit. A profit needed for all the other stuff I need to buy for current projects... What do you reckon, is it a good price enough to make a nice profit?

Hello,
I´ve been offered to but this vintage Shimano Dura-Ace wheel set.
Black hubs, 36 spokes, 5 speed freewheel, AVA tubular rims.
Cassette and Campagnolo quick releases seems to be included. In pictures it look s a little bit rusty, but I reckon it will be easily fixed.
What would you say this stuff is worth? I´ve been offered to buy it all for £35. Is it a good price?
At the moment my road bike is a Nishiki Olympic Royal, originally I think these had Shimano Dura-Ace EX FH-7260 Hubs with 6 speed freewheel. Last owner got rid of original wheel sets and put something more modern from Shimano on there with 7 speed Hyperglide freewheel.
I´ve been considering to go back to older hubs. Just because old parts feels a bit more fun...
Would the wheel set mentioned above work on my bike? Considering buying it to put it to some use on my Nishiki. OR maybe just buy them to make a profit to buy the original Shimano Dura-Ace EX FH-7260 Hubs instead.Any thoughts on all this?
Thanks! Best regards
