I watched the Chelsea versus Swansea game on Sky and thought the minutes silence was well observed . I don't think all Chelsea fans should be judged on the actions of a handful of morons.
Microphones turned down in the offending area of the ground so it doesn't come across on the t.v, Standard practice when shit like this happens.

Thanks guys, I had bought a Campagnolo Veloce one that wouldn't work. I think it was 40-42 mm if i can get one in the low 30s it should be fine. I think i will get the cheapest low stack one i can find and if it works get something nicer.
Just to confirm, i should measure the head tube and add the stack height. then this should be the same/shorter than the steerer tube?

A summery of my recent project.
The girlfriend surprised me with this for my birthday.
screen shot downloadWas built up with whatever i had in the parts bin/whatever i could pick up cheap (I have no money lol)
Brief spec:
Unknown frame/forks ( about 90% sure it is a Gitane)
Front wheel: Normandy Hub/ Mavic rim. (Landed in Paris to start a cycling holiday with my mates and i had forgotten to put my front wheel in my bike box. We found a bike repair shop and i got this for 17Euro complete with wing nuts)
Rear wheel: Cheap ebay that looked most like the front wheel.
Headset: Campagnolo Veloce.
Chainset: On One External bb track chainset.
Seatpost: Cheap Ebay.
Stem: Cinelli
Bars: Cinelli criteriumFirst up to be swapped out is the BMX halflink chain, I just had it to hand when building.
Total spend was about £190 and I am really pleased with how it turned out. -

so i took two non drive side external bb cups and they went straight in, i am thinking of getting one of these:
http://www.on-one.co.uk/i/q/CSOOTC/on_one_external_bearing_track_crankset
And just running two non drive side cups. I think the crank holding itself together should stop the drive side cup from unscrewing.

That doesn't sound like a French bb to me. You wouldn't be able to get anything English in a French threaded shell. Sounds like you're saying it's double right threaded English. Never heard of that - usual answer is old Raleighs when one comes up against weird stuff, but that frame doesn't resemble a Raleigh at all.
^ I think the seller might be right and it is a BSA thread...
I was sold a set of bb cups by a rather shoddy LBS and the packet contained 2x NDS cups.
These both fitted in the English BB but turning CW in both cases...
I was in a bit of a hurry at the time (a couple of days before L'Eroica) so I loctited the bb in place and put a lock-ring on both cups!
I subsequently sold the frame to Andrew of this parish - he was slightly flummoxed by the double CW bb, and we were both mildly concerned that I may have threaded the shell, he later found that a bog standard shimano sealed BB went in quite happily.....my theory (FWIW) is that there's some kind of Zen symmetry that goes on when you turn a RH threaded cup into a LH threaded hole, it goes in CW....
Even though I'm actually a Chartered Mechanical engineer, to my shame I don't have any geometric theories to back it up - it's merely anecdotal evidenceI therefore urge you to persevere with a steady hand on your bsa cups...
Thanks for the replies, i have been trying to get a standard sealed bb to fit with no joy. My head is melted, but i was looking and on-one do an external bb track crankset. Could i get this and just use a non drive side cup on both sides? failing that a treadless bb, but i dont know what these are like long term.

Any idea what this frame is?
Thanks
So after contacting the seller twice to ask if it was definitely English threaded and being told both times that it was, the frame gets delivered and seems to be french threaded. (well i am guessing as neither an English or Italian bb will fit) the adjustable cup of the English threaded bb went in fine but the fixed side would not take, the adjustable cup will thread on to the drive side but turning right. i have ordered a french bb but it is a guess really. I think the french bb has confirmed it as a Gitane.
