Hi all, would really appreciate feedback from the experts on what I should do with a severely degraded chimney stack. Builders proposed to take it down, as it looks very shaky and fireplace is not in use (closed and plastered over). Downstairs neighbour is having damp issues on the chimney breast right under the stack when it rains heavy, so we are thinking water is coming in through the super degraded chimney stack.
My only concern about removing the stack and taking it down to the level of the flat roof is potential problems with condensation and lack of airflow.
Does anyone have any insight on whether I would need to vent the chimney Breast somehow if we close it off on the top with roofing felt?
Thanks so much!

No post on here in a long time, 10kg weight loss has resuscitated an interest in fashion… enjoyed the discussion of age-appropriate sweaters but what’s the cut off for dungarees (I know controversial)? I have always enjoyed wearing them in my twenties and carharrt and dickies make some nice and affordable ones
Any recommendations welcome!

Currently on day 3 of 7 day fast, off work and family on holiday makes it super easy. Feeling great so far, so much focus, finally getting all the annoying things done around the house that I have been putting off forever, even defrosted the freezer...
What works well for me is black coffee and sparkling water with lemon, plus some electrolytes for the headaches.

Feel like I have to share my running shoe revelation with altra torin 5s wide fit as a long-time bunion sufferer. The toe box is soo roomy and with toe socks it lets me spread out my toes fully. Tried some Hoka Clifton 8 too (wide fit again), but didn’t have the toe room I need, plus they just felt too clunky on my feet.

Ended up going to Dim Sum and Duck in Kings Cross. Read your guys rave reviews to my partner on the overground and we spontaneously got off at Euston and walked over for a early lunch at 12. At 11:50 on a Monday there was already a queue of 15 people! But totally deserved, partner is from mainland China and thought it was amazing, especially as they are not stingy with the prawns and meat filling! Really recommended for the food but definitely too squeezy for a long nice meal. Price really ok too, £40 for various dishes (we were both stuffed!) and non alcoholic drinks.

Slightly cheaper than on the website, as I won’t pass on their booking fee :)
