Hi all, Hi @BigH
.. selling these zeus parts reminded me of my Zeus project.
so i searched for the box and mounted the parts quickly, to see how it works out so far.
in order to see what decals i should use i printed out some decals on paper and attached them with tape.
i also thought about repainting the frame but this would require quite some hard decisions regarding color, type of paint and budget..
i have some some questions, maybe you can help me..- i still don't know out if the blue paint is the orginal paint. based on the pics what would you say?
- what decals would fit era-wise?
- which color would you choose if you had to?
Thx and reagrds from Berlin ;)
Peter

If anyone's interested I came across this apparently NOS 531 Razesa road frame the other day, looks legit. ..Pretty rare to find Chromovelato in NOS condition & in green to boot! wish it was my size ..
loving this thread by the way :)
green cromovelato ...hmmmmm
your are right. this looks great and the price is very good.
i am not sure that the 52 cm is correct .. somehow it looks bigger..or maybe i want it to be bigger. as always.. -
The clear decals with the white letters would look good on a light coloured frame without the chrome forks. Then maybe the ones with the shiny chrome background with a frame with chrome forks.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Zeus-decal-set-of-9-/140936039208?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item20d0714b28these decals are mainly used on more modern frames I think
http://i43.tinypic.com/11i33b4.jpgIts probably not worth the time to try and make your own decals unless your really good with photoshop and illustrator etc. there are plenty available to order online of good standard.
What size seatpost does your frame take? Is it light? the details make me think its of a higher build quality.thx for posting the links.
i don't really like the silver decals. i probably go with the single letter decals.
here in Berlin, there are some stores which do decals and painting. i may go to velociao.com
here is a example of a restored masi pista he did
http://www.velociao.com/2013/masi-pista/the seatpost size of my Zeus frame is 27,0
its quite light, i don't know the precise weight, though. -

first i thought about the old decals with the rounded background. and as i see on one of the Zeus pista in the catalog you posted it is used.
but i now tend to using (buying / making myself) the Zeus Letters iwht outline but no background as in the other jpgs.i dont even know what tapy of tubing the frame has.. may it is also 531.. ??

hi, i am thinking about letting my Zeus frame repaint.
now i wonder about the color. i was looking for examples on the web.
i tend to orange. do you have any recommendation regaring original color used at the time?
i guess my pista frame is from the 70ties..the first blue one is mine the rest are examples
-
haha..
My pista crankset came also with only 4x Zeus and 1x Campagnolo screws.I found in the last couple of weeks
a Zeus seatpost, micro fluted, and a size that fits..27,0 mm
a Arius Pista Saddle, shipped from New Jersey..!!!
another Pista Saddle, not sure which company though
Zeus Front Wheel (World Logo, and squarish font)
is think its from a Roadbike -
