You always going to be up against prejudice over the so called 'death forks' unfortunately. I've had several with the alloy forks and never a problem.
But you are up against prejudice here. Prejudice = unreasoned thinking according to my dictionary. Quite true in my experience.On the other hand, as a buyer you get cheap bargains because of all the bullshit myths: ) I've had many, and as a buyer I know I've had many good bargains because of the bullshit surrounding these frames/forks.
I still have a Viscount Aerospace pro in storage that I've kept from new since the late 70's. I must have used it daily at the time for the best part of a decade. Lovely ride, even if the frame was too large for me ("You'll grow son"). Never had any trouble with the alloy fork, even after flying over the bonnet of a car that had had pulled out in front of me. The impact did slightly affect the fork alignment but no cracks or anything. Mind you, I did weigh 9 1/2 stone at the time, so not exactly stressing it.
