Interesting piece on the BBC website confirming the Women's TOB is set to become a regular event.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/cycling/27390169Also for the time being it will stay in the east as they have concerns about the peloton being too spread out on a mountainous stage.

Watched yesterday's stage 4 as it ascended Port HIll in Hertford followed by a quick ride over to Old Welwyn to see them come down the High Street.
The quality of women's road racing has come on a lot in the last few years. Fitness. bike handling skills, tactics; not much different from the men's races now. A real tribute to the ladies and their managers. Also the quality of the race management was superb, which I guess it should be being a top class International event, but in the past the girls have been a bit short changed here but not this time. Plenty of support vehicles, police outriders, signage, rolling road closure - good stuff.
I think we can say the Women's Tour of Britain has been a great success and I hope the sponsors feel so too and it will now have a regular place on the calendar. -

I am building up an early 90's Italian road bike with Shimano 600, just because I have a lot of it !
However, I need a Front Derailleur for double chain wheel and braze on fitting. FD 6400 series, Tri-Colour, 7/8 speed gruppo probably, in excellent visual condition and good working order. Bottom pull.
Photo appreciated together with price and how to pay you. Shipping from UK only please. Thanks for looking.

Thanks everyone. I know how to get to Narrow Street (The Narrow pub !) so Thames Path from there seems the answer.
Most grateful. The Fan Park should be ok. For the Olympic Road Races there was a similar thing at the top of Box Hill. Big screen, food vendors, memorabilia sellers, toilets (please !). Will be alright providing it doesn't rain. Could be a good place to chill out and look at other peoples bikes.

I see there is a Fan Park open for watching the T de F.
http://tourdefrancefanpark.co.uk/index.htmlCan anyone give me a quiet cycling route to Canary Wharf/Wood Wharf from Three Mills on the River Lee towpath or Limehouse Cut ? Also a cycle route from Liverpool Street Station would be appreciated.
Looking at the A to Z it seems full of main roads so I need some local knowledge.
Much obliged.

If the wheels are in good nick best to keep them on as that is what the bike was designed for. If you fit 700c you will find the rim is 4mm below where it was with the 27's and you will have to make sure your brakes can cope with the extra drop. 4mm may not sound much but you will be surprised how often the brakes are already on their limit with the 27's plus it can make the frame look gappy.
L/F hubs look so right and track nuts help prevent your wheels being stolen. The thief has to come with the right size spanner.
As to tyres, Continental Gatorskins are available in 27 x 1 1/4 size. Found some at a bargain price on the net today.
I guess you can sayI am recommending you keep them !
Best of luck with the build; let us know how you get on. -

Ian, I intend to bump it ! You have to get jumble dates in peoples diaries otherwise they commit to some thing else.
Regards.
