As much as I'd like to be part of this 'peds / buses / take your pick are wankers' brigade, I can't do it. Maybe the commute route I'm on happens to be a particularly good one...although given that it's right through the middle of Kings Cross and down Farringdon Rd, I don't think that's it. It's so rare that I come across the 'others' being fools...in fact, I typically get so much more angry at my fellow cycling folk.
The chronic splurge of frustration I see against non-cyclists here makes me think either i) maybe I've just been lucky so far and my time will surely come, or ii) maybe there are some really bad cyclists posting who just lack basic perception skills.
Cue assault.

Guilty.
But that was so confusing... I couldn't believe there was another identical Peloton there on Sunday, but my bike was locked to another one so couldn't have been the one in this picture.
Until I clocked that you nabbed the pic from this thread: https://www.lfgss.com/thread112028.html

Had a heartbreakingly nightmarish moment with my NJS Peloton going into work this morning. Just coming down from Kings Cross towards Chancery Lance, pulled off from a junction and heard a massive crack. Initially thought this was (somehow...) my saddle coming loose from the seatpost. Got to nearest bike shop to borrow some tools, before realising the saddle was absolutely fine. Further inspection revealed a fucking ginormous crack the ENTIRE way round the bottom of the seat tube...

I'm so sad about this. Just did the DD on this over the weekend completely without problems. It's just...happened. No idea how. Every bike-y person I've shown this to is baffled. So now having to swap all parts over onto an old Fuji frame, and think about what - if anything - I can do with the Peloton. The friendly and helpful folk at Full City Cycles suggested Argos. Could be an option. But I'm slightly concerned about whether a crack of this nature - basically a complete dissection of the tube - means even a good fix won't do the job. Got no idea really; never had a problem like this before.
Thoughts / suggestions of what I can do with the frame (very) welcome.
I'm off to weep and drink.

Junction where New Oxford St meets Bloomsbury St - which, incidentally, is the first time I've done that road at rush hour....never again. Waiting at the lights, guy all in black on a SS - who we shall call Mr F - comes up behind me and tells me to move forwards. I tell him I can't because otherwise I can't see the lights above me (would have shifted sideways but so packed in like sardines). Mr F kindly tells me to fuck off before going round the island to continue up the other side of the road. So basically wanted me to get out of his way so he could run a red. My conclusion at the time: Mr F is a cnut. I stand by it.

Hi all...long-time lurker, first-ish time poster here. Also down for the TCR this year.
So my Garmin finally and actually crapped out on me the other day. Complete death. While annoying, it's forced open an opportunity to explore devices that would be good for TCR-esque endurance cycling. I've seen navigation mentioned a few times in this thread, but thought it would be really valuable to hear from folks --- particularly those who have done a lot this kinda thing before --- specifically about good setups.
My own two cents right now... I wasn't massively impressed by the Garmin Edge (1000) that's just passed away. Touchscreen a bit annoying on-the-go; not good with rain / sweat; screen a bit hard to see at times; battery life a bit meh. Had it not died, I would still probably be using it for TCR, but now it's gone I've been looking at the Wahoos, either Element or Element Bolt. Battery life looks alright; they seem quite straightforward and easy to use. Potentially some concerns about how effectively they navigate relative to Garmins, but not sure how much of an issue that would really be. Then for pure functionality, also thinking about the Extrex...
I don't really know at the moment. But would love views, if they're out there.
