Hi All,
Without wanting to get into sheldon brown's calculator shenanigans. Could someone explain to a newbie what a decent ratio would be. I have a Sprocket (rear) 18 T and I'm thinking of getting a 46 T 170mm chain wheel set. Wheels are 27 x 1 1/4.
Majority of terrain will be flat with the exception of two low gradient hills. Just want it for cruising really, not racing etc.
Any help (not sarcasm) would be greatly appreciated.

Hi All,
Currently finishing off a really awkward SS project involving an very old frame I found in the garage. From speaking to the previous owner, I'd say it's over 50 yrs old. Nothing is standard, and nothing bloody fits! Haha!
Finished it off today, inflated the tyres. Aaaaaand POP!
I've got 27 x 1 /14 wheels on it. I think this might be the problem. I read somewhere that there's an issue with pressure.
Any pointers would be appreciated before I take it to the dump which happens to be at the bottom of my road so the temptation to do this getting too strong!
Cheers
