Built this up today! Just got in from a lovely little evening ride around Battersea and a bit of the Thames path.
Excuse the shitty picture, some better ones will follow...
Just a few creases to iron out; I think I'm going to get some Nokon housing for the compression-less goodness, I need to add an inline barrel adjuster on the gear cable, I will also add a top layer of Newbaum's cotton tape over my current Velox stuff, and finally need to decide on a new saddle either a Brooks C17 or C17 with cutout.
Right now to plan some rides...

Dinner stop. Setup v.stable. Got camelbak rucksack too. Must pack less next time, tho reminded one night stuff almost = many nights stuff.
I hope you got the Tofu chilli, that pub is one of the things I miss most about Manchester. This route looks like real good fun, I will have to make a note of it for next time I'm home!

Just attached my handlebars and shifters to see what they look like.
http://i57.tinypic.com/2rrpk0j.jpgI went for Salsa Cowbell 2s the shape of them seems really nice and I feel like I would use the drops more than on a set of woodchippers
As you can just about see in the pic I gutted the left hand shifter. It felt so wrong opening brand new shifters and pulling them to pieces!

So I just fitted my DMR qr mounted hanger, Sram X7 type 2 mech and my rear BB7 (The new all black version looks so nice!)
http://i61.tinypic.com/2qn603m.jpgNow trying to figure out the best way to attach a Velo Orange Randonneur rack!
(+another dog)
http://i61.tinypic.com/2s8ixqf.jpgAlso got emails today to say my AbsoluteBlack chainring is on its way to me and my BB86 GXP bottom bracket is finally back instock and has been dispatched!
I went for a Hope headset and Pro 2 rear hub which should be here on Tuesday
This is all getting very exciting for me, as my main ride for the last year has been my s/s 29'er after I fucked up my knee crashing on my last road bike.

Hi,
This is my first thread so please be nice!So I have been planning a 1x10 fast touring/light off-road touring bike for about 6 months now, slowly putting parts in a pile in the corner of my bedroom.
I had been planning to get a black Surly Straggler frame, but after being offered a stupidly good deal from Madison on this Genesis frame I decided to go down the route of adapting this for what I need!
I got the frame today and have started fitting parts!

After planning and collecting parts for a Surly Straggler build for about 6 months (I have pretty much everything except the frame), I got offered a really good deal on a Genesis Day-One 853 frame. So after finding the parts I needed to butcher it and run it with a rear mech I ordered it, and it will be arriving in about half an hour! Its own thread will follow shortly!

Stem and bars, there is a few very small white paint splatters that I will clean off, other than that just a few knocks to the white paint of the logos and some sticky tape residue that would clean off!

I'm looking to swap my Jetblack turbo for a set of rollers.
It's a hydrogel one, with varying resistance settings. I still have the original box and a riser for front wheel.
I'm looking to swap to rollers as I fancy a change!
Also I'm based in Camberwell by Burgess park the turbo isn't to bulky but wouldn't be very easy to transport by bike (unless you have a cargo bike!)
