Also a video from my randomly interesting you tube channel, showing me installing a new bottom bracket and chainset on the Beater.

Any framesets knocking about for sales? Looking for 56cm frameset, preferbly with bb and headset. As usual, not much cash around, so something around 100 beans would be cool. Track or horizontal dropouts, dont mind a few scratches but not too beater.
Cheers folks.
(Actually, i'm going to respray my beater and tart up my mtb for now. A new frame can wait) -

Not so much a for-sale, more a piece of info. I managed to bag a few choice bike parts from Howes Cycles closing down sale. Specialised drop bars SR crankset and some deore brake levers.
Shame we are losing another bike shop, even one that was always a bit pricey. I hope the other shops stay put, especially Billy's and Bicycle Ambulance. -

Ordered a mini front rack, velcro straps and a motorbike cargo net. The net will go over the rear rack to keep the bulky bits secure. The front rack will be for either sleeping bag, tent or something light-ish. Once i have these bits im off on a mini tour. Also ordered a Tyco Suzuki back pack. But that's mainly for commuting, bought to celebrate Guy Martin winning the triple in Ireland. If you don't know him he is a British superbike road racer and mountain biker who also does a bit of Truck mechanics and TV shows about British Industry.
Basically, a top bloke.Anyway. Got a few campsites earmarked for riding to on my mini tour. More planning to do.

^^ Brilliant news. Restores faith in humanity doesn't it. Combi locks are a waste of time. We used to pick them (for fun) at school to prove how easy it was. That was many years ago. Seems those type of locks are still useless. I lock my bikes with one or two d-locks, depending which bike it is. September to November is peak thieving season in Cambridge, so take care.

Got a SKS raceblade for the front wheel. Looks better than the chunky crudcatcher i tried. Otherwise all the rest is the same. Been busy lately so havent done a proper long distance ride. Going to see how i can load some camping gear on the bike. I reckon taking the tent poles and strapping them to the top tube would help spread the load. Most of my gear has specific pouches or bags, so whatever isnt in the pannier bags could be attached elsewhere.

Just thought some of you might like to see the view of Le Tour Stage 3 from the start line in Cambridge. Marcel Kittel was right in front of us as they waited for the off, good stage win from him. Froome was hiding in the middle not too far away. My daughter loved it, even the five hour wait didn't bother her, it seems! Just hope this visit from Le Tour changes the attitude of some of the drivers here in Cambridge, doubtful i know.
