3T Palladio Team 27.2, 350mm, 25mm SB
Very awesome full carbon seat post with 3T's brilliant Difflock saddle mounting. Bought for use on a new build to match the 3T bars and stem I am using, but a subsequent bike fit showed that I needed an inline post rather than a 25mm setback.
As such, it's been ridden on 6 times before being replaced with a different 3T post. It's in almost perfect condition, with just slight signs of where it was inserted and a tiny nick at the top of the head. When fitted I used torque paste and a torque wrench and it was only tightened down to 4.5nm although it suggests 5nm.

Thanks for the responses guys. The reason I ask is I'm thinking of getting a geared bike to take up cycling more seriously and maybe enter some races. Having never ridden a geared road bike I have no clue about how fast or otherwise I might be.
Background...
I've been doing a lot of training on the langster (fixed) for my big ride (this coming weekend) and I average 16.5mph on rides up to about 80miles even with 2000-3000ft or so of climbing. Yesterday I went out with a local road club and averaged 17.8mph for 60miles with 2100ft of up... my highest ave for that distance (Riding 48x18). The only area I suffered was the long flat with a tailwind - I just couldn't keep up with a 25mph average for more than a couple of miles and that's made me think even more about gears. I know I'll be faster downhill (spinning at 180rpm gets tiring fairly quickly!), but on the flat I'm not expecting big gains. Uphills I think it'll be about the same on short rides, but maybe the gears will give me a bit more on longer rides.
So overall, is there much gain in anything other than fatigue? Mmmmm.I guess what I was hoping for was for someone to say "well, I'm 'x' faster or slower on my geared bike, all other things being equal" to give me a gauge!
And yes, as others have said, I'd like to see a fixed TdF too. That'd sort the men from the boys :-)

Oh the agony! Two of my favourite things are being over-run by Hipsters. Fortunately, help is at hand and the harsh reality of life is beginning to bite them back in their skinny jeaned arses :-) http://www.hayibo.com/hipsters-stunned-as-vintage-cameras-fail-to-make-them-professional-photographers/

Continuing with the garage clear-out, I have two saddles and a set of aerobars to move on to better homes.
**Brooks B17 Aged - £45 + P&P at cost
**Has done about 1000miles so is broken in but not soft and floppy. Haven't yet had to tighten the adjustment nut underneath, or re-tie the lacing. Comes with a small pot of proofide, the adjustment spanner, Brooks cloth and the black nylon waterproof cover (bought as an optional extra - not a standard item). Apart from proofide underneath, the saddle has been treated with leather sealant top and bottom to protect it from water. It has been wet twice, but both times allowed to dry naturally.
There are scuffs at the back centre on the top of the saddle from turning the bike upside down to mount wheels etc, but these are minor and in no way detract from the function. Also scuffs on the rear corners from leaning against walls etc.
Selle Italia C2 Gelflow - £SOLD
Black saddle, used, but not for a while. Very comfy with the gel padding and cut-out. Has black manganese rails. Scuffs on both rear corners and a bit worn on the top at the front of the cut-out, but only minor (see pictures).Profile Design Airstryke S aerobars - £35 + P&P at cost
Bought to provide a different hand/arm position for century rides, but my back flexibility (or lack of!) just doesn't allow me to get comfortable in the aero position for long periods of time. Fits 31.8mm handlebars.
Used a handful of times but in very good condition. Just some scuffing along the top front extension - see pics.
Details from Profile Design below:- Aluminum clip-on extensions with flip-up arm rests
- Ergonomic one-piece “S” bend design
- Includes F-19 length, width, and rotationally adjustable anatomic armrests
- 6061-T6 aluminum extension and forged brackets
- Length adjustable, one-piece S Bend extension
- Provided with climbing friendly flip-up ZB brackets
- Compatible with rigid ZB arm brackets & Profile Design Swiftshift
Finish: Shot peened and anodized finish for extra strength and durability Color: Anodized matte black Weight: 542g
Still got the 44cm Specialized Short Drop bars from a previous posting. Search my other threads for that if interested and make me an offer.
I'm based in Amersham, so if you want to collect from here you're welcome.
Dibs followed by PM please.

Thanks, Varno. That's about what I was expecting. Not looking for ultra lightweight, but something light and durable - it's gonna have to cover 360miles on the road in three days for this: http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/davenewton so something tough and smooth rolling but light is preferable. And it needs a brake rim too - I don't like relying on a front brake only on downhills!

No, not lights from 'up north' in fact, lights from a long way 'down south' - Australia in fact.
Anyone got one? If so, any views on them? Are they as good as the website would have us believe?
Been looking for a new front light for a while and since I'm not a rich man, I can only afford to buy the best (yes, that does make sense!). These seem REALLY good without actually breaking the bank. And I do like the idea of having a bar mounted set and a helmet set - a spotlight on the head (currently LED Lenser H7) has stopped cars pulling out of junctions in front of me on several occasions.
So, any views welcome!
TIA.

Got a 61cm SE Lager if you're still looking....
Black one of these:
http://www.evanscycles.com/products/se/lager-2010-single-speed-road-bike-ec020552
Mostly stock, but has brand new Specialized All Condition 700x23 tyres. Good condition with a few scratches. -
I've got an 2010 SE Lager in good nick that I've been thinking of selling for a while and would do so for the right money.. It's a 61cm frame, so only really suitable for the top end of 5ft scale or into the 6ft+ bracket (I'm 6'4" and it's a good fit for me).
It's the black version of this: http://www.evanscycles.com/products/se/lager-2010-single-speed-road-bike-ec020552
And is mostly stock. Different bar tape and the tyres are brand new Specialized All Condition 700x23 jobbies.
Few scratches on the frame but nothing major.
If you're interested, let me know. Or maybe I'll get around to putting it in the FS thread soon.

I've looked into the in's and out's of childrens books, and you wouldn't be required to do any illustrations yourself. It is rare for publishers to accept a writer's own illustrations, as they prefer to choose their own artists for projects. Preliminary sketches would be required, nothing more.
I see 'Miracle' as not really a children's book, but more the type of book everyone would read. Your writing style is so clean and accessible, and more importantly honest and not patronising, that anyone could happily pick up such a book a while away an afternoon in it's company.
Many children's books make the mistake of talking down to their audience, but part of the charm of this thread is that you bring us on the learning curve with you, we learn at the same speed as you.A mixture of 'lifestyle' book, technical manual and adventure story - i reckon it would sell like hot cakes!
^What he said! I've only just found this thread and it already nearly cost me an argument with the other half - she wanted to go out, I was engrossed in your updates. She won, but the positive for me was that it prolonged my enjoyment :-)
My father has often talked of living on a narrow boat but has never got around to it. I might have to print out the whole thread and make him read it. Maybe he'll actually go about doing something about his dream then.

So, I posted a couple of images of Bradley Wiggins that I took at the time trial last week in another thread and I've had a couple of PMs from people wanting prints, so I thought I'd put a collection of images here for anyone that wants to buy a print.
Any size around A4 / 10x8" is £20 plus p+p. If you want bigger, let me know and I'll give you a price.

Seriously folks, it's time for some perspective. Everyone has different opinions. Some things polarise opinion like nothing else.... PC vs Mac, Canon vs Nikon, Sainsburys vs Tesco. Helmets are the same (as are headphones while cycling). However, just because Wiggo thinks we need to help ourselves and wear helmets (as is getting more airtime about it because of his achievements) it's no reason to have a go at him. That just smacks of jealousy. Personally, I agree with him. I think helmets are a good idea and we, as cyclists, should help ourselves to stay safe. If you don't want the nanny state to tell you to wear a helmet, then you can't go crying to them when you fall off and hurt your head.
And if you're so keen on pushing an anti-helmet argument and you want airtime, then get off the computer, get on your bike, win something meaningful and enjoy the camera's attention for a while. Otherwise, STFU and get on with your life.Rant aside, here's a couple of pics I took yesterday of Wiggo streaming past me on his way to Gold. These were just outside Sigma Sport in Kingston.
