I tried a mount off ebay, put it on my handlebars... and at the very first bump, the whole thing went flying. Not great.
I have started occasionally browsing kickstarter with a search like "bike" or "cycles" and I found this great, affordable solid looking phone/sat nav/ speaker mount. $20 including post to the UK. Hope links are allowed... By the way I'm not selling it... just hoping it will get funded fully because i really want one.

Failing it getting full funding (you get your money back if it's not successful) can anyone think of another good mount for my phone?
Also, what do you guys think of the stemrack? Watch the first video. I think it's great because I could leave it on the bike while popping to the shop.... no dirty teenager would bother nicking it.

Have you tried setting the bars so they are not straight?
Yeah. Doesn't work.
By the way, I'm getting bored of dealing with other mechanics and since I am technically-minded, I'm going to buy a bunch of tools. Might be worth getting a box full in one go.. would make life easier. I own allen keys, pedal wrench, adjustable wrench, lubes and screwdrivers. But for the price of a chain breaker, cable cutters, chain whip, spoke wrench... etc might as well plump for this. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/IceToolz-New-Bike-Cycle-Advanced-Mechanics-Tool-Kit-/180825714338 or this if I don't need all the cone wrenches: Ice Toolz Essence Tool Kit What do you think?

I have a problem with my arms. They are not the same length. I know what you are thinking: "that's a common complaint, get thicker grips on one side"
No, seriously.. the difference in length is 2.5cm, which is dramatic enough to cause me shoulder pain on my longer-arm side.
I need the handle-bars to compensate for this problem, or I am stuck riding pashley shoppers and cruisers for the rest of my days. Possible solutions needed please? Is there a place I can go that would modify handlebars for me, without costing the earth? Would it be a hard thing to bend some bars suitably? Should I sign up for a metal work course at my local college and try something myself? What's the best option here...?

Escalators!?!
On Sunday I took my folding bike on the central line at shepherds bush (folded it to get past the station staff). Once on the platform I unfolded it because using the wheels is a lot easier than carrying... When a train came, I boarded, and the driver over the tannoy told me to get off cos I had a bike. Wanker. Anyway, live and learn about that. The next train was no problem, I just boarded with the bike folded.
When I got off at Notting Hill, I took the bike up the escalator, unfolded (much easier than carrying the damn thing folded). However, by the look of the woman at the top, unfolded bikes are the cause of instantaneous heart failure and cataclysmic explosions.
On to my point and reason for posting:
Apparently unfolded bikes are banned on many sections of the tube due to escalators "we don't have insurance for you to take bikes on them". Who knew. And I just realised something. This means there is not a single escalator on the Circle or Hammersmith+City line! Ever seen one?

My ageing Ridgeback Velocity stolen Sat 14th April from near All Saints Road, Notting Hill.
Paintwork showing the age somewhat. The bike is a few years old.
Frame size: extra small.
Full length mudguard fitted to the rear only.
Black** locking quick release** skewers on both wheels.Men's bike. However, it has the same colour paint as this bike:

Again, not my actual bike, just similar to this one. -

Ah the rims look about 1" wide from my fumbled attempt at measuring with a ruler... uh...
It seems there really aren't many places selling 20" rims. Are Marathon racer tyres any good? I want something fast.
