Trust me dude, it's way too loud to be dealing with it... Is there a proper method of checking chainline? As far as I can see, from every angle, the chain is straight. All the teeth that the chain is resting on is also centered. Might have to get myself a new BB I guess... A shame, I haven't even ridden it yet!

I finally put together my first fixie and I had to admit I'm rather proud! However! When the wheel starts spinning an annoying noise occurs. Here's a video of pretty much the same problem: Fixed Gear Drivetrain Noise - YouTube

I think I know what might be the cause but I'd rather have someone who knows what they are talking about advise me. I managed to grab a Miche Primato Advanced for £30 today but my BB is Shinamo (as far as I'm aware). There is a 5-6mm space between the right crank and BB and almost 1cm on the left. I suspect this is the cause but if anyone can confirm this I'd be grateful. Feel free to suggest other potential faults! Any help will be much appreciated! Thanks.

It's not used and it comes with the chainring, as shown in the photo. Doesn't matter any longer. Thanks for those who actually tried to help.

My first build so yeah I have a crappy BB, but hopefully down the line I'll upgrade and use the better chainset with it. That's the plan anyway.

I found someone selling a new Sugino 75 chainset for £170.

That's the picture he's posted on his ad. I was wondering about 2 things.
First of all, has anyone bought a new set before? Could you confirm that these are Sugino 75 from it's packaging etc? The box seemed a bit 'cheap' for an expensive crankset like this, but I wouldn't really know. Secondly, assuming all is well, is £170 a good price to pay? I'm trying to build a fixie and have a Shimano BB.

Any info would be much appreciated!

erik, just a question about this 'new' bb. By the looks of it, it is far from new (I've just noticed now). I looks completely worn out, the 'teeth' on the plastic cup on the non-drive side are all chewed up, for lack of a better work and I don't know if this is normal but the square bits sticking out of both sides are not even, the right hand side sticks out more by 3mm or so. Maybe that's how it should all be since I'm far from being a pro but as each day passes I feel like I've been ripped off more and more. Thanks.
