As we all know velodromes have been shut down for a number of months . In the last week Some have reopened , last week I rode at Derby and it was great to be back on the boards . Anyone else been back yet ? and what was the experience like ?

Ha ha , definitely worth a trip you can drink tea from oily mugs and chat about steel bikes for as long as you like in their subterranean bike workshop

Just use the 531 frame will be fine for SQT s , after riding the usual Planet X and Dolans I ride a njs frame at Derby velodrome and its just as good as anything else

Used huel for about a year the tried whole fuel as with some discount codes it's less than half price . Would recommend, the vanilla and also chocolate the raspberry not so good .

Yes that's all good just pop a 3 amp fuse into the plug instead of the13 amp that is likely to be in . Also if using power out side make sure your sockets in the house are rcd protected or just get a rcd plug

A derby velodrome update I passed the accreditation, there was crashes on stage 2 and 3 but managed to avoid them . The last few months have been spent riding SQT and drop in sessions , the on line booking system works ok .Racing has just started again a league on Tuesdays and also for the older boys a veterans league on Thursdays under LVRC rules . Looking forward to a winter of indoor cycling .

A 60' wide beam would be cool to live on

I bought one as they were much cheaper 15 years ago , now you have to have a residential morning so also have to pay council tax . Every couple of years you have to get it out of the water to be repainted , also costs for emptying sewage tanks etc . I would recommend taking a bike down to a bit of water and talking to boat dwellers , most will happily talk and give you loads of info . Also hiring one for a week or two is very informative

I spent a number of years living in a narrow boat on canals around the nottingham area , and would recomend it for sure . However there can be a lot of hidden costs and it is a lot more work than living in a house . What sort of boat / area are you thinking of ?

In my work I have been to 3 of the indoor velodromes and have been told they all run at a loss .tjis is perhaps why they are so expensive .
Would out door tracks be a better option for the average cyclist ?.
More cheaper and accessible sport for all back in the day I rode nottingham leicester and forest town a lot . All got s lot of use and where cheap to ride .

Not un sporting would be a advantage go for it

Phoned up to book a session , answered straight away booked no problems.
Stage 1 session was good first time on a indoor track for a few years . Hire bikes and instruction first rate ,stage 2 booked for next week .
