Looking for a bike to commute 8 miles a day on. I have looked at 6 2nd hand bikes this week. All had dodgy frame numbers or came up as stolen(1). I do not wish to lose my SGC by handling stolen goods.
Anyone know of any similar bikes or near or better quality.
Doesnt need to be SS geared is fine. Skinny tyres and unassuming is important.
Helps...

Nice to see some racing again.
Terrible problem with dog shit, got it all over my shoes, and so, having come by bike, my pedals are contaminated with that disgusting mess. Very luckily my backpack avoided all the nearby deposits.
Shame there's not a fenced perimeter of clean safe grass, strictly no dogs allowed, for spectators.Woah woah woah,
I'm sure what you meant to say, is there's a shame all dog owners do not pick up after their pets!Fencing off the issue is not solving it. Also why should all dogs be punished for the irresponsible few.
Aaaaaannnnyway, sorry, i didn't get chance to list the weekends coming fixtures, whilst I do endevour to keep this thread upto date I do have more hobbies than time!

I really can't be arsed to spend that long in paint trying to draw three bikes into a corner, the rider on the outside shutting the door and me high siding. the face pics tell the story, which brings me onto an update:
Day 11
Think I got away quite lightly, the scars are very dark but I can still see and my teeth have settled back down after being loosened, fingers crossed non of them fall out 6 months later. They're too expensive to replace!!!

Careful what you wish for, sat doing nothing for 7 weeks isn't all it's cracked up to be.
Heal up well, I've had similar abrasions in the past and I found with gravel rash like that you should get away without any scarring, apart from your lip which will probably have a lump in it...
I've broken many bones and dislocated many joints, i've also suffered full thickness muscle tares and torn ligaments.
I break myself alot, broken bones, from experience are the least painful and heal the best.
not too concerned about scarring, still got my teeth and my eye. Almost enjoying the disgusted looks on people's faces in Tesco's etc :D
I did sneeze on Sunday and dispite thinking my face was going to peel off with the force I did produce rather impressive sized piece of shale from somewhere in my sinus. Yummy!!!
I also ate a pizza today and a slice of birthday cake. Woop!

Hi guys,
I was infact wearing a helmet when this happened, a skate style one. If I hadn't of had it on, given the level of concussion i'd imagine there would be more serious injuries, I may even have lost my eye.
However this was a £15 lid which I bought as a spare, since writting off my Met Parachute I've been using that.
I will now only ever wear a full face lid. Commuting or whatever, If I sweat I can drink water, if I grind my face which I have, I can't even drink, yawn, blink without pain at the moment and you want to try sneezing!!!!

Whooaa those bones in face are there for a reason! Fractured skull can lead to any myriad of life threatening things.
Although I didn't realise it was that painful :S
Taking painkilllers?I already have a myriad of things wrong with me, add to that an immunity to morphine, local anaesthetic and a built up immunity to iburprofens, aspirins and paracetomol. I just have to ride this pony out.
Love my sippy cup, hating putting bonjela on my inside lip, burns like hell but enables me to speak a little and eat something.... not sure the pain is worth the little bit of food.

Thanks Hyper,
I was wearing a helmet but a piss pot one at that, if i'd of replaced ym met parachute which smashed when I did a similar stunt whilst mountain biking i'm sure I wouldn't be as cut up.
I will from no on be wearing an ACU approved full face helmet for speedway, it's only 4 laps and i'm usually the only one not gasping like a fish out of water after.
i know I did have a lid on, but it's a lid that has sustained many big impacts and will now be junked, the Docs couldn't beleive my cheek bone was intact given the damage to the face, but i'm so concussed I have no idea what's going on at the moment. Can't imagine what would of been the case if i'd of had no lid.
All of the above said, i'm still looking at my full face lid which cost £90 and my met parachute which is £130+ to replace and wondering what's the realistic alternative for XC/trail centres....?
BTW as I type this, i'm completely nill by mouth for food, I'm getting water via a toddlers sippy cup and I cant move my jaw as the pain is sickening. What great fun, i'm going to take up gang violence in London, i'm sure it's safer.
