Hey Skoota, Sandy_I, O'Shane and Coventry Eagle. Thanks for the comments i consider any suggestions and comments as constructive. At the end of the day it is going to be my first bike so I'm not expecting it to be an earth shattering revolutionary step in the world of Bike polo. Just out of interest, what do you mean by Angles being slack? No I'm not going to have a rob brake configuration on the bike, I'm going to be running a rear disc. I had a few reasons for getting this frame; 1. its steel. 2. being an ex-police bike its hopefully solid and rarely well looked after (despite it being from the 50's) 3. I'm running on a tight budget and it was on the better side of cheap. Also i should point out that i play polo on grass which i would image has some variation in style of play and equipment.

Hey folks, i realise what i am about to do isn't really the done thing, but my desperation has overcome my sense of propriety. Im trying to put together a polo bike for myself, this will be the first bike of my own, i have borrowed bikes a couple of times from my team mates, but now that i have found my place i want to stamp my mark on the team, but I'm struggling to find good parts in my local area (i live in the wilds of North Kent) so if anyone can help me out it would be greatly appreciated.

Hey, this is a message for DuD3 i can actually send a pm or anything just as yet so its going to have to go one here. Just to say thanks for the info on the Canterbury folks. I play my first game of bike polo for my local grass team this sunday so as soon as i have a few knocks under my belt i will venture across to your side of kent and say hi and perhaps get some court time. I have requested to be added to the Facebook group you sent me so that i can keep up to date with whats going on there. Thanks again.

Thanks for all the advice everyone I do really appreciate it. I am sorry if I offended anyone with my question, I just wanted to come to a community of people where I would get sound and first hand advice rather then metaphorically stumbling along in the dark and getting things undoubtedly wrong.
So why is it that the whole dual braking system has become out dated then? Is it a performance related decision or just an evolution within the sport? As I generally assumed that hopping and intricate manoeuvring would have been easier with the dual brakes.
Lastly. Rincewind, do you need a hug? :). Just kidding, the extensive list you posted has been most helpful, thank you.
