I used to work there for Friends Provident, I remember I turned up one Saturday morning for over time and was presented with the sight of two topless ladies doing a photoshoot on those steps.
The top floor was/is home to the Daily and Sunday Sport.

^ not meaning to discredit pop-up which is already doing great, hopefully they could grow to become a real go-to place in Manchester, I.e. packed out at lunchtime, lots of evening events going on etc
I'd like to see that too, but it does need booze. I might drink coffee at lunch but at an evening event I'd more than likely want a beer/something alcoholic.
However, it's probably difficult and expensive to get an alcohol licence and it's probably a financial risk they don't want to take.

Me and a mate rode to Stoke for the Tour of Britain stage there the other week. We went up through Stockport to Marple, across the Middlewood way to Macclesfield, took the road up to Congleton then used the Biddulph Valley way to Stoke. Took us just 3 hours and we hardly killed ourselves to get there.

Here's my introduction,
I'm Farrell
I either ride a tatty old GT Palomar MTB or my marginally smarter 1960s Andre Bertin road bike. I have other bits of bikes dotted around, annoying the crap out of my girlfriend.
I'm not from London. nor are any of my bikes fixed gear or singlespeed, so I am a little unsure as to why I've ended up on the LFGSS forum, albeit in the Manchester sub-section.
I have a mistrust of black cab drivers.
I am interested in giving bike polo a crack if thats of any use to anyone.
Farrell
Looks like a seriously depressing Amsterdam brothel.
