I've had a Kurt Kinetic Rock n'Roll for about 2 years now and always loved it. I've noticed recently that its started feeling really 'hard' to ride, an that i'm finding it harder and harder to train on, the sort of feeling that the brakes are on.
Could it maybe be the flywheel is FUBAR? I've never done any maintenance etc on it.
It could of course just be me being a wuss.

On long rides recently (i.e., 6 hours+), i've noticed my heart rate always drops after about 4-5 hours. Is that a sign of FUBAR?
I've been eating a lot on the rides, and drinking a fair bit. No matter how much i've been feulling, I always always always lose power pretty bad in the last hour (so, not long after the drop in HR), even when going out at a not too stupid pace.
Ideas, thoughts, comments?

My hips are not happy and i need some advice / ideas...
Have found in the last week that anything over 2 hours outdoors and my hips are becoming ridiculously tight, to the point that standing in the pedals is super-painful and i just can't put proper power through the pedals whether sitting or standing.
Have checked and double checked saddle height and fore/aft and nothing's changed.
Have always done a lot of stretching and foam roller and have started doing even more stuff focussed around hips, quads and gluten since this started happening. It doesn't seem to be helping.
Only thing that's changed in my riding recently is a bit more high intensity on the turbo, and i did my longest ride in a very long time (185 very hilly kms) on sunday.
I feel well recovered from the big ride in myself and my energy levels etc. So not sure if the hip thing is a symptom of that, but have done plenty of long-ish rides in recent months.Any ideas at all? It's ruining my outdoor riding

Anyone here do yoga / pilates? Am looking to boost core strength and flexibility.
I used to do leg strength work partly as a means of building my core as a byproduct but am nearly always getting DOMS from it (despite having done it through winter) and its fucking my training so am probably going to bin it.
Anyway - yoga / pilates - worth it? My balance is pretty poor so it should help that too.

Started doing more intensity on the turbo in the last few weeks (z4 - 5) as opposed to longer rides outdoors due to a lack of time juggling work and a flat move.
I know there's a lot more to it than your PMC lines, but it's kinda dispiriting seeing CTL steadily going down. Feel like i'm losing form even though i'm just actually working different systems. Anyone else find it hard not to get preoccupied with the fitness / freshness graph?

Did my first turbo session in about 3 weeks after only riding on the road in that period and it was fucking awful. Even pushing z3 felt hard.
The pedal stroke / action felt so much harder than normal, like a lot more muscular force required than road. I've never noticed the difference that badly and have a always got on reasonably well with my turbo. Gonna have to just force out a few sessions with a lowered FTP till i adapt i guess...

another one on this - HTF do you watch a youtube vid on full screen and get the minimised horizontal TR app screen to work in front of it? or do you just have to drag and resize the youtube widow to as big as possible to fill 90% of the screen and then have the TR screen in the remaining 10%?
i thought it was supposed to be a feature of the app that you could easily overlay stuff to watch?

I was out doing some long rides in mallorca last week (along with every MAMIL in the world by the looks of it) and started just saying cheese and chorizo sarnies for stodge and then gels and energy drink for quick snap energy. Worked well.
Admittedly i wasn't in a super high intensity environment, b ut training pretty hard. So, sandwich at the top of a col, descend, sugary shite on the way up / between. Really helps on rides over about 5 hours. I find bars / bananas etc etc just don't put enough of a brick in my gut for long efforts.

Tempted to get a pro team training jersey.
However, was wondering about fit - it's described as 'relaxed fit' compared to their aero jersey (which i don't have and so can't compare). Does that mean shit baggy nodder cut or still pretty close fit? I have one of their PTJs from about 3 years ago and really liked the fit on that.

Following on from the above, i may be able to get a relatively cheap Kickr Snap. The reviews are not all that great - i.e., difference in power reading from the turbo and a PM, weird calibrations etc - anyone got anyone got any first-hand feedback?
