Alright guys, new here. Anybody know of any decent routes out of town, ie; Hexham, Corbridge. Better still, any good rides around Newcastle, Tynemouth or South Shields area?
Hello Joycey. I'm also new here. I ride to work on a single speed (not fixed) from Corbridge to Gateshead along the Tyne Valley. Most of the route follows the Tyne along Hadrian's Cycleway (C72) and is mostly flat (I can give you more info on the few steeper sections). For a leisure ride, I'd recommend starting from any of the following train stations along the Tyne valley: Stocksfield, Corbridge, Hexham, Haydon Bridge. Follow the C72 next to the river all the way to the Quayside for tea and cake at the cafe in the Baltic. You can even carry on following the river to South Shields. If you want to go in any other direction from Corbridge or Hexham, you'll have to do some climbing. Hope this helps.
