Hi there! Got the notification through, it's been so long I'm surprised anyone remembers me! I still ride but I moved out to Ipswich (jokes welcome), I did briefly commute Liverpool Street to kings cross area but not for long enough to revive myself on here really. I now spend a lot of time trying to earn enough to fix the boat and mod the car. How is everyone? I had no idea that you had such a nasty off (or any!) @itsbruce I'm super sorry to hear that but glad you're towards the mend now. Good luck with it.

Thanks for the warm welcome back! I am indeed still out of town, unfortunately. The problems of an arts graduate I believe, being unable to get a reasonably paying job.
The shop itself does great takeaway food, I'm particularly fond of their cheese and ham toastie, and the staff are always super friendly. I try and go whenever I'm visiting London seeing as it puts me near kings cross. I was hoping to catch some forumers there if possible but otherwise I'll stuff my face and report back! I caught the vegan drinks post a tad late annoyingly but I'll try and be down for the next one! -

Well, I had a lot of fun, I've learnt I'm pretty rubbish at snowboarding, so I'm clearly going again as soon as I can, I need the practice! I have a crazy mental block about leaning forward, I can't articulate the precise frustration that comes from your brain screaming 'lean forward' and your body not responding, but I hope the feeling is recognised. I don't quite understand why I don't seem to be scared of falling over, but am clearly scared of falling over if I'm leaning back. Ah well. I'm still planning to see if I can get away this season, put the hours in a lot more.

I would second the vote for Veganomicon, it's got a lot of tasty recipes in it (just in case the wariness of the title wasn't all joke, it's a purely vegan-only book without readymade meat substitutes either). The only failing of the works of Isa Chandra is that it's very american, i.e. always calling for ingredients not always common in the UK. She did a fantastic book of cookies and another of cupcakes. Highly recommended as well.

I'm having a day of lessons, zero to hero (I can dream), because it was very discounted and I want to be able to be doing trips to snow domes with friends for fun instead of going to a lesson while they have fun, hopefully this will do the trick.
Thanks for all the replies! I had been thinking about wearing my cycling shorts and padding them with a small towel… I think your idea sounds a bit more effective.
I'm glad that the basic stance sounds similar, not that it will stop me making a tit out of myself.
I'm really looking forward to it! It's been so long awaited. -

I think it depends on the tools owned by a LBS Dom, I know that we can thread BBs, not sure about forks but my vote is to phone around a few shops near you before you leap to a framebuilder. That being said, putting a plea out on the forum might do the trick as well, considering the vast numbers of oddly specialist knowledge and equipment that seems to wash up here.

Anyone 'on here' going? All my friends who would normally are in exams/not in London/actually playing the music at the gig already.
Cue Kim Jong rendition of 'ronery'. -
One lady today who I assumed to be non-nodder as she looked very carefully behind her before pulling out round a stopping bus and only pulled out when I gestured her to go in front of me. Then jumped lights at junctions, jumped onto pavements to avoid stopping at lights and was just generally dozy. If you wanted to get home quicker you should have pedalled faster.

IKHTW? Tho surely you've met her before?
Anybody who is anybody has met IKHTW darling.
My ears are burning...
I was turning into the Sainos on Green Lanes yesterday about 6pm, I have a large grey rucksack and was wearing a black waterproof and black tights?
P.S. Matt&Dan, I haven't seen either of you in a while and I find this sad. Pints/Rides sometime this summer? -
Swains is never on the way! And no, to be honest it was a soul sucking job so I rarely had the mental energy to turn up to a group of people who I'm sure I wouldn't know most of any more. Sally, Ben and Debbie still there?
