Thanks for the heads up. When i arrived the road was cordoned off and when I was wheeling past on the pavement, there was definitely a bike in the road and, judging by your post, the shaken driver being attended to. I presumed he was the cycle's owner.
Agree about your comments re some of the fellow travellers along this route. -
Opposite to the petrol station near the Half Moon pub, at 8.20 this morning. Road blocked off by police, bike in mangled mess but rider sitting on ambulance tail gate in one piece, wrapped in reflective blanket.
Loooked slightly dazed but otherwise OK.
Can get hairy around there. Queueing traffic and lots of unexpected right turns by cars anxious to fill up.Heal well

White Hart Lane railway crossings at junction with Westfield Road (to Barnes Primary School), rider on the pavement, presumably after being hit by a car pulling out of Westfield trying to jump the crossing barriers (used to cycle that way and had numerous close calls). Looked OK, sipping water from a bottle provided by cluster of other cyclists helping him out. Had to take the kids to school otherwise would have had a closer look.

I have been using the Paddington racks for the past month and a half since getting a job in Reading. No theft concerns so far, although agree with IAmNotARobot re bikes getting knocked around a lot. Tend to go to the racks at the far end of the platform which are less congested.
