Heh @walkmanman,
Could I dibs the following please. Sorry if they have already been dibs by others.
- LX M571 front derailleur 34.9mm DIA TP. Do you have an XT in 34.9mm & TP?
- Old Deore front hub. 36 hole with skewer
- XT seatpost QR. May have already been taken by NotMuddyFox?
- Bontrager Ti saddle. This is for someone on RetroBike who isn't on here.
I did so want the Hope hubs for an old school wheel build, but need 36 hole. Will reference this thread on RetroBike for you too!

30min drive from me since we escaped West London. They all look to be in a sorry state eh? Assume they got taken out of service for one reason or another and ended up being robbed for parts to keep the rest of the fleet running? Need to pretend I didn't see this. Really love our Douze and think I just need to get on and electrify it, although we do want a bigger bike ideally, but the Urban Arrows are true heavyweight beasts, saw and spoke to the riders of them on a daily basis on my old commute as I use to pass a last mile delivery depot en route and use to get stuck waiting at the level crossing with other cyclist way too often than I'd like!

Ha! I meant Alfine 11! I hate the jumps in Alfine 8. Doesn't take long to take the 8 apart, but agree, far easier to do oil change on the 11 vs. regrease on the 8. I've just read too many things about fragility that have put me off, but this is the issue with the internet - too many people claiming about stuff! :)

Sounds exactly what I feel we need to do. I want an analog bike and don't care about torque sensors and have no interest in bolting some horrible aftermarket mid drive on our bike, the Alfine hub feels horrible enough on it's own! Will get looking. Light hack sounds interesting too! I see @MCamb has already asked about this. Thanks for the info and sharing your experience.

@young_gun been meaning to ask you about your electric conversion on the Bullitt. I know you have a few other cargo bikes too! :)
We have a Douze which is very similar in performance to Bullitt and the move from West London (pretty flat with some short hills - especially vs. Austria!) to South Wales where the hills are that bit steeper and longer again has made me think we need some e-assist, more so than just SPD's on my feet!
I would still want to ride the bike as much as I can without assistance, but know when loaded to get up the hills I will need it. The Swytchbike hub sounds interesting. So have you gone with separate battery set-up to get more range? Currently we have a dyno hub so would ideally want something that can give us lights too rather than switch to battery lights as I'm a big dyno-light fan.
Just trying to look into this as want to avoid using the car as traffic at times is worse than where we were in West London! :)

@young_gun we have a Douze and they're lovely to ride. Was a toss-up between that and the Bullitt as my wife hated how the Bullitt handled.
Might need to chat to you about electrification of our Douze. We've had ours for over 6 years and love it, although just before Christmas have moved from West London to South Wales and it's a little hillier so might need some added ooomph!!!

Planet X Kaffenback frame & forks.
Old review here from 2006:
https://www.bikeradar.com/reviews/bikes/road-bikes/planet-x-kaffenback-review/£35 collected from Ealing W5.
Photos:
https://photos.app.goo.gl/9eKCFc9iyHaP7uKu5Average condition with plenty of marks and some surface rust in places. Frame is straight.
However the seatpost is stuck. I have quickly tried to remove the post using a softwood block & emery cloth in a vice, but it didn't budge. I clamped it up high by the saddle clamp hence the anodising has been "sanded" off by pulling/twisting action. Pretty sure it will come out with a slide hammer/impact driver, straight pull jig (like the seatpost man) or with caustic soda (damages paint!), but I just don't have the time as we're getting close to moving house! :O
Size:
420mm seat tube C-C
482mm seat tube C-T
520mm top tube C-C
92mm headtube
130mm wide dropout spacing
68mm BB shell
Rear frame clearance for tyre (max) 65mm - approx
Front fork clearance for tyre (max) 50mm - approxI have the rest of the headset somewhere too, if I can find it!
Shout if you have any questions.
Ta!
Tim
