Hi Dave! Glad to see you've found the forum.
If you have a look on the Facebook group there's even more vids etc. there: https://www.facebook.com/groups/newcastlebikepolo/
Neither me or Oliver can play this weekend, although I don't know about Nige or Steve, but we should definitely get a game together next week.
For the bike: low handlebars, a dual brake lever and an easy gear make polo a lot easier, but you can play on anything. :D

Thanks to everyone for coming to the tournament. Best day of polo I've ever had - great matches, friends, food, music and sunshine!
Excited to have so many new players in Newcastle so we can get regular matches again...and such a big young supporters' club!

Yeah, good point Nigel. Let' see how many people there are on the day, and if the Scots have sorted teams then.
Just realised now Ed's out there's nobody bringing boards down in the morning. Oliver still has the ones from last time at his so if anyone with a car can pick them up that would be great.
I'll be there at 9am to secure the court (or whatever). Other cities should be there for 10.

think Im working the tournament date unfortunately...so wont be about. shame.
:L
Seems like it' just me, Nigel and Steve then...
Shall we be a team or just do a throw-in on the day? There's quite a lot coming down on the train/car from Scotland but I don't think they've sorted out teams yet either, plus Ben from Manchester is coming on his own so a throw-in might be the way to go. That said I would like to be a Newcastle team if you guys want to?
Has anyone heard from John at all? Would be shame for him to miss the tournament. Suppose I'd better ask Glasgow to bring down a set of goals too.
Worries aside, it should be a great day of polo. :D
I'd better get some kind of prize for the champs, whoever they may be...

Sure. Polo Direct Arena (Shieldfield) or the General Hospital? 3 til 5 would be best for me. How about everyone else?

I've asked Emma to put the tournament in the bike fest programme. Excited to start playing again!

That should be fine, Dave.
The court is here: http://g.co/maps/dn4kt - 5 minutes ride from the station.

We're going for the 22nd.
Let me know your teams in advance so I can sort out the format and food.
Also, if anyone wants to stick around and play some more on Sunday, I'll try to get you a bed.
Hoping for sunshine so we can have a nice long day of polo, maybe 10 - 8 ish. If you're booking a train make it an early one!
-
Nice one. Let's say the 22nd then as it gives more time to prepare. Oliver still has the boards from last time and I can sort out lunch for everyone, make a facebook event and tell the locals. John, could you bring goals and gazebo again?...and how's the shoulder?
All the other cities are dead up for it; there's even two new teams, one in Holmfirth and one in Washington!

Hi there! How's the Yorkshire polo crew shaping up?
If you fancy a small and relaxed first tournament, we're thinking of hosting a few teams from around the north and Scotland in September. It could be the 8th or 22nd, depending what's best for everyone? Would you be interested in coming up for it?
Here's the video from last time: http://vimeo.com/38751698
Luke from Newcastle.

Hi strangers! Sorry to have been off the forum so long. I've had much to deal with, and it sounds like everyone else has been in the wars too.
As Ed's moving down London quite soon, we were thinking it would be good to host another lo-fi tournament in September before he's off. Also a good chance to get the crew back playing again, and make use of the Indian summer.
How would either Saturday the 8th or the 22nd be for everyone? I'll see if the other cities would be up for it and when they could do too.
I'll come if Oliver can drive...?
