Hi all,
My bike got stripped while locked up on Waterloo Bridge yesterday (brake, gear cables & chain snapped; disc brakes, derailleur, handlebars & stem stolen). Someone sat on the bus at the Strand junction managed to take a photo of thief.
It's probably a long shot, but if you could please please keep an eye out for the guy, I'd be grateful. I have a feeling this is someone that does the rounds with a rucksack full of tools, on the lookout for bits and pieces to steal, so it's probably not a one-off thing.
Thanks!

Bought for £250 three years ago, but now gathering dust as I use a geared road bike.
Not sure of exact size, but prob 56-58cm, as I am 5ft7/8".
Chain and brake hubs may need some TLC, but otherwise working well.
Great vintage frame that will make for a stylish ride for anyone looking to refurbish.
Looking for quick sale - please text/email if interested.

I don't mind the lack of cycle lane (meaning cyclists is less likely to hug the kerbs), but the fact there'll be 3 lane AND 30 mph limit is what bother me the most.
Funny thing is, they can easily make one of the lane as a proper cycle lane (the full lane, not the tiny pathetic one that put people at greater risk).
I think that lane is useful, particularly in its current dimensions, as it shows we have a right to be on the road. With another lane and a 30mph limit, that's surely going to entice more irate drivers stuck behind cyclists to do something rash...

It seems work on Blackfriars Bridge will start overnight on 1st Aug. This doesn't give any chance for challenge or review.
This will be in line with the original plans TfL had - with NO cycle lanes, and they're doing this over one weekend.
I wonder what the point is of inviting consultation - when they (Tfl) get responses they don't like, and when a member of the GLA (Jenny Jones) questions the Mayor, they just do what they want to do all along...
Wait a minute...NO cycle lanes? What the fuck!

I did not like Southwark Bridge for that reason, I get honked at if I choose to ride on the road as it's faster, easier and have more error room, a lots less riskier than the narrow cycle lane with a ridiculously huge kerbs inbetween both lane.
segregated bike lane usually reduced the driver's awareness because they think cyclists won't be on that particular road.
i thought there was plenty of room on that bike lane and didn't really have a problem when i re-joined traffic, but i see your point about driver awareness. and yes, the kerbs are a little high.
Good work! He didn't happen to have the grey rucksack and helmet of the guy in the photo did he?
