Perfect thanks ubegrube for the info.
I’ve been edging towards the same conclusion after a couple of days of reading.
The owner is more an appreciator than an enthusiast, and seems to want to move it on. Thanks for the price guides, gives me a good ball park to go back to him with.
Cheers

@davidual so you just dislike Deltas? As both models look the same, aside from external springs on CdA.......!
No one want to drop a ballpark figure on it?

How interesting!
Thanks for the replies and details! So in summary - nice wall art or a waste of nice parts and break it?
Below is a pic of the frame sticker, is the tubing a Bianchi branded OTP Columbus tubing? Could only find a catalogue scan from Japan with specs.
I wondered if the paint was original, as it has blue lined lugs? If it’s been redone it’s a fairly proper job but maybe with a slightly off paint code (aren’t there 3 Bianchi Celeste’s)
I spoke to him yesterday and he seems keen to sell, any ball park price thoughts for an uninspiring “Celeste-ish” Bianchi with fancy trimmings? Or is it a matter of “whatever someone will pay”?
Thanks again to the inputters
Cheers

My new neighbour noticed I was a cyclist and asked me to have a look at his bike. He wants some info on it - think he took it in part exchange (as he liked the look of it) for a classic Italian motorbike, years ago and been hanging on his wall since. (He owns a classic European motorbike sourcing/selling company).
I’ve done a little research, as my Bianchi knowledge is slim at best.
This is what I’ve found so far:Bianchi Rekord 910 S - German market frame rebuilt (originally Shimano 600) with full Campag Chorus groupset (early 90’s ??) right down to the pedals (with matching clips & as new straps!), engraved seatpost, Celeste Ti Flight, original Celeste Bianchi Silica Impero frame pump, Chorus hubs on Mavic Open Pro AND mint Delta brakes, Cinelli bars+stem.
It’s in great condition, everything seem as new.
He’s asking if he should sell it, as he’s never ridden it and is just wall art.Can anyone help with the back story/more info (from selling vintage motorbikes, he values the background), to me it’s like those Ferrari Dino’s you find in a barn in Texas.
The forum has had a few tatty Rekords sell (£300-600) and steel-vintage.com in Germany sold a few older set up ones sell for up to $3500. And eBay loves a mint Delta brakeset for $1500+ LOL
Can anyone fill in some blanks?
Cheers

Thanks greeno and zio_donnie. I’ll take your points on board, I get it that’s it’s a personal thing.
I might eBay it and if it doesn’t go, I’ll split it on here.
Thanks for your advice

Jonny(Gave it a showroom clean and refitted the front shifter cable (keeping it 10spd now) put the tan walls on the deep rims and the Chorus crankset on and it looks stunning! Had 30seconds of “I’ll just keep it”............. er no.)

Well this isn’t going well - 370 views and not one comment or any interest.
Could I ask for a little feedback?
Am I still overpricing the bike?
Is the choice of specs the off putting point?
Is it just not a nice frame?
Or too small for everyone? (Is this a tall forum?) I’m 5ft11 (long legs, long arms) and with a 110mm stem and layback seatpost was a good fitone last price drop then I’ll have to put it on eBay #sadface
8spd Campagnolo -£350
10spd Campagnolo -£450 -
After a bit of research on pricing of similar models, i’m going to slash the prices - maybe I was a bit over excited initially!
So revised pricing:
Campag 8spd, shallow rims, 3ttt bars - £375 (inc original forks)
Campag 10spd, deep rims, compact bars - £495
Or spec it from the list in the 1st post.I’ll give it a good clean and do more pics. Paint is good, Chrome is good but I’ll do pics of the few marks.
Note: the frame will come with a threadless setup, forks, stem +1.125 shim, headset, Chorus 39/53t crankset and silver Veloce dual pivot brakes.

NOW ON EBAY PLS CLOSE THREAD
Concorde Ventana Columbus Cromor 52cm (TT 54cm) - Options on Spec
Hello,
Bit of an autobiography, but bare with me!I bought the original bike from here about 6years ago, rode it for 2 years in its original spec and then moved to Australia for 3 years where the bike lived in storage in the UK during that time. Built it back up when I got back from Oz, and had a box of bits - so I've tweeked the spec numerous times over the past year, but its a joy to ride and served me so well.
Original FS post -https://www.lfgss.com/conversations/209124/
Over the years it’s been tweeked in to many different setups. Here is a picture history:
EDIT: Please see attachments due to issues with image hosting and lack of recent forming experience!- Original Setup
- Still got these lovely forks
- Next setup with FIR / PMP wheels
- Then a couple of modern additions
- Then one step back, one step forward about 3 years later
- Then lost my mind and went 1x11 as a commuter
So that brings us up to date.
I would like to sell the bike with either an old 8spd, shallow rims setup , or a 10spd, deep rims setup (buyers choice, but negotiable on final spec) Note: the frame will come with a threadless setup, forks, stem +1.125 shim, headset, Chorus 39/53t crankset and silver Veloce dual pivot brakes.
Price wise (see below for full spec options):
Campag 8spd, shallow rim, 3ttt bars - £450 (inc original forks)
Campag 10spd, deep rim, compact bars - £550 (inc probs some modern tyres)

(Been a while since I last forum'd, so pre apologies for noob errors) - Original Setup
I've turned into a Kinesis fan, on my 2nd one.
Aithein for 4 years, superb everything, handling, comfort, not just a crit bike - a weapon. Clocked up 10,000miles in Austalia on it - then came back to the UK and snapped it on an innocuous commute (at the downtube!?!?)
Now a CX1, purely for the larger tyre clearance (and if I ever give in and do disks) - and yes I dropped the Aithein forks on there to sort the relaxed geometry.
Good frames and great value!
