Hackney council have permanently closed my street to through traffic! used to take 500 to 600 cars an hour in the evening. So much more relaxing pulling up to my house now

witnessed a cyclist hit by a car last night, dude was ok, bike a bit mangled though. Paramedic who checked him out victim blamed him for not wearing a helmet! He'd apparently just bought his bike which was a refurb job from somewhere in Dalston: a single speed with rear brake only!

Collided with a van on Friday morning, he pulled out of a parking space on the right side of the road into my path - it was wet so i skidded a bit and thudded into the side of his van. he carried on without stopping. At the lights further along I ask him if he always drives away after a collision, his response was "where are your lights?" (I had lights, they were on).

Had the old "you should be paying road tax and have insurance" from a driver this morning, after driving alongside me while I'm trying to pull right to make a turn.

Walking along the canal last night, and a cyclist coming super fast the other way completely stacked it riding past me... his wheel caught the little wooden edge along the edge of the path and he toppled off and crashed into the side of a boat moored along side. Had there not been a boat there he would have ended up in the drink!

Got turned around by some police tonight cause of a big fire in a shop on Balls pond road

Stopped at a narrow bit on Balls Pond Rd to do a right turn, lots of slow moving cars going the other way so took a while... then got blasted by a bus horn right behind me. Scared the shit out of me, those things are well loud!
Why? If I was a car, any driver behind would surely just wait patiently?

Bike was filthy from months of neglect, so stopped in at the hand carwash on the way home. £5 for two guys to clean it all up, money well spent.

cycling along balls pond rd/st pauls rd yesterday morning, when a scooter runs a red from my left. It has two guys on it with tinted visors. They speed off ahead of me then quickly u turn, mount the kerb on the other side and ride up behind a lady walking. Seems like they tried to swipe her bag or phone but missed for what ever reason. So brazen!

I went past that about 8.45. 2 police cars, ambulance etc dealing to the man lying on the road, couple of cyclists sitting on the kerb with emergency blankets. Police were telling all the drivers to turn around. Looked grim

Its a tout terrain, with a pinion gear box under the cranks. He's got a USB charger thing in the top of the steerer tube which I think is why it looks a bit higher. The red bag under the seat is loo roll.

Friend of mine is cycling Oxford to New Zealand on this...
