$100k is going to be a a psychological barrier, so I'd expect a touch and then a retraction. Then a slight pass and another retraction, then through and UP. If Corporates and Nations are seeing it as being the new "Gold Standard", and get FOMO, then we are going to see volumes like never before, and the supply/demand dynamic will power the next price run up. Until BRICS or USA define the replacement for the FIAT $ and Gold, it's got to be a good place for - well timed - investment. The most recent Doubling was in April, so that is yet to mature, and it's generally the start of an upward trend; although the Trump election may have banked much of that gain already, so once he is sworn in, and the reality of Governmental inertia and International problems strike, a pull-back is not out of the question IMHO.

I'm interested in recreating small older bike parts that are no longer in production. This would mean that historical bikes (40's-80's) which are the backbone of cycling history, can be kept viable and not be scrapped for the lack of a £10 part.

Over eating/drinking/smoking etc, are all just forms of rebellious behavior surely !? Giving the finger to society's norms - which we all do sometimes - but then getting into a vicious circle of repetition because of the short-lived benefits.

My friends who have quit smoking have (mostly) used Mr Carr's book, which "sells" the benefits of not-smoking. You are told NOT to attempt giving up until you have read the whole book, or you won't be sufficiently re-programmed to succeed.

IMHO, we all become what we WANT to be; higher aspirations are just dreams and we don't really want/need them.

"Thinking Fast & Slow" by Daniel Kahneman explores how we use a standard model of the world to provide quick responses to most situations, which avoids the need to think - and the trouble this can cause. It then illustrates some of the prejudices and flawed logic behind this and our deeper thought processes.

I believe it explains why we laugh at jokes; typically a situation that suddenly breaks from the standard model and causes a flip into thinking mode. But that could be open to debate.

Although the ideas are powerful, it's possibly the most tedious book I have ever read - it's like walking through treacle IMHO.

I've worked on bikes for years, but never previously sunk to these murky depths. Please can you help with what may seem like nupty questions.

A friend has a 3x7 speed Tourney system on his commuter and it's utterly worn out. We need cassette, chainrings/chainset, chain, jockey wheels. Or, would it be better / cheaper to replace with a 9speed system ?

I'd appreciate your advice and any pointers as to where to get this stuff cheap.

I believe it has a screw-on cassette, can I remove this with my trusty Shimano lock-ring tool ?

Moto G 8Gb - a good deal ??

The nice people at Phones4U paid me £136 (the remainder of my contract) and gave me a free Moto G on a new 2yr contract that was £6/month more than my current one, but I can revert to my old tariff after 12 months. So I recon they sold me the phone for £72 paid over 1yr. And I got a free replacement back cover. I think there are deals to be had even outside of Tesco. Does this mean that there is an imminent price drop :-/
