I use mine most days and often for longer trips. For those with plenty of time on their hands, and nothing better to do (so sad) I wrote up a London Paris 5 day trip on a 3 speed Brompton http://rgstocker.blogspot.co.uk/2013/06/london-to-paris-on-brompton.html I've also signed up for both the Benelux (Antwerp) and Portuguese (Lisbon) National championships this month. Great excuse to see the sights of two of Europes better cities - not to mention Belgium beer and Portuguese wine - I've also taken part in all the Smithfield Nocturnes - must have seen loads of you there. Those pedals look interesting, saves taking a pedal spanner when flying as the pedal was mangled (non folding side) on one flight so I now remove them both.

Didn't start till 10.30 and included a tea stop, beer stop in Deptford and another beer stop at my house in SE4. Great trip - thanks everyone. Attached or linked is a gps track of our trip.http://pic.twitter.com/W2oMHkAGeH ![](http://www.lfgss.com/pic.twitter.com/W2oMHkAGeH)

Great event - happy to marshal, might prefer it to actually getting a formal place. I must watch some TV before ne next one - and perhaps read some young persons journals you folk read. Wouldn't know a famous model TV star even if I had to mend a puncture (2 jobs this ride - release a white (well it was) scarf from the rear wheel outside Buck Pal - much to the amusement of the tourists and provide adjustable spanner to tighten fixies rear wheel - wondered what he was doing running down the pavement with chain hanging down.
Thanks to T & J - nice scotch as well.

I think they are Slovenian... a good local backstreet bike shop that are starting to get a good reputation. Really small terranced house shop with loads of inexpensive second hand bikes - I don't hink his English is that good but her's is fine. There is a good mix of bikes shops in Peckham (SE15) now - something for everyone.
Still south of the Thames of course so a no go for many ;-)

for formal opening. Did a few laps after this lot - great to see it back in operation. -
The ride leaders had a rather fetching pink hi-viz to wear. Not sure I would like to wear this again. Not as many on our lead ride into London (from Greenwich as in previous years - even less going back. Perhaps London Bridge had more cyclists than usual during the day....) Not to omany stands in St James's park but I guess it was quality not quantity this year.
Herne Hill Velodrom has its formal opening Wednesday morning - Mssrs Boardman and Robertson (sports minister) opening. Anyone going to the meet on Sunday - and perhaps staying for the free bike powered film afterwards - Breaking Away?

The UK end always want my Brompton bagged. I normally unfold whilst inthe waiting area and whell to the carriage (sometime they are miles away and I can't see the point of carrying when you can wheel. Coming back (from Brussels or Paris) they are not that botherede about puttingthe bike through the e-ray (especially Brussels where a security guard stopped me from folding it and just wheeled it through.
Off to Perpignan London to Paris TGv to Perpigan going out and Perpignan to Lille and then London coming back. Brompton going to - just short of £120.
BTW From Paris you can get a non TGV to Boulogne and Calais and ferry back to the UK - almost the longest part of that journey is Dover to London (unless you fancy riding) unless you use the fast trains (which apparently take bikes). A few years ago a few of us trained to Newhaven, ferry to Dieppe, rode to Paris to catch the final stage of le Tour and back via Boulogne/Dover etc. good trip.

First post - can't add a new thread due to newbies restrictions so cheating a bit. If someone could add this as a new topic I would be grateful, I thought that it is closely linked to track racing ...
Just to let you know that Southwark Council have hired the Rollapaluza team to take part in a Change4Life event on Peckham Rye Common Saturday 19th March. It would be great if you could let your members know about this. Nice cafe onsite and you could do a few circuits of Canonbie Road/Westwood Park/Horniman Drive/Honor Oak Road which should help warm up a bit.
Basic info on the event at http://www.southwark.gov.uk/events/event/914/ Please pass this information onto others.

From SE London (Bromley) look up Eddystone Road and go over footbridge and head towards Peckham Rye - through Rye Lane, Surrey Canal Walk. Cycle route (signed) leads across OKR and takes you to Tower Bridge Road. Pretty quiet and avoid OKR - I reckon its as quick if not quicker. Main roads = traffic signals and traffic, quieter roads = pretty consistent journey time.
