Cycled to Haarlem a month ago, really excellent town. Recommend stopping in Katwijk for a mackerel sandwich from the slick place next to the old white church, you can't miss it. In Haarlem itself an excellent and great value restaurant is http://www.hetpakhuishaarlem.nl and don't miss out on poffertjes with strawberries and shitloads of cream from the truck in the main square for breakfast of champions.

Ha ha reminds me of a few years ago Mr Spintoofast telling me how he was getting (mainly good natured) abuse from many old school Italians for rocking a Megarange. Not suffering enough apparently! Me and Nick will be back for the 4th in a row, as usual getting in on the Friday for preparation (shit loads of chianti at the tiny wine bar up the little hill in Gaiole). Any one else docking early?

Cycled up from Bow to Roydon (on the Stort) last monday. Surface on the Lea is very good these days, no issues on 28c and sure 25's would be just fine. A fair bit of the Stort towpath is unmade but still fine and feels like (almost) proper countryside. Fish and Eels at Hoddeson is worth a stop too for river side ale supping

Good to hear Green Papaya still doing the business. Had a brilliant 3 course effort at Viet Grill on Kingsland Rd last week, its a sunday special and well worth a look. Some of the best salt & pepper squid I've had followed by pretty much any rice or noodle dish from the main menu. Banana fritter a slight let down but I was well stuffed by then anyway

Cheers anyway 105, managed to track down the last remaining pod in the southeast so all should be well. About to start the traditional hour or so of cursing to get the bastard thing packed and then its wine, beer, steak and sleep. See everyone tomorrow, whats a bit of rain anyway? All the more (h)eroic eh?
