LFGSS and Microcosm shutting down 16th March 2025 (the day before the Online Safety Act is enforced)

This is my set up if it helps to compare to - tonearm height, counterweight position and whatever that dial is that I forget, with concordes. What decks are you using?
You could just increase the tonearm height and bring the counterweight forward a little bit, both incrementally, until you don’t experience the issue. I would start with the tonearm height. The official instructions are probably based on normal playback. I wouldn’t worry too much about precision - you’re not going to gouge any 45 12s and I presume you’re not wanting to keep them NM condition. Many DJs put pennies and the like on the headshell to stop the issue you have, but I wouldn’t recommend that!
I don’t have problems, unless the odd record is especially warped or has scratches at the cue point and I need to be more gentle with it.
PS - post your setup (and mixes). I’ve daydreamed for a long while about combining my digital and vinyl setups and am always interested in how others do it. Vinyl is a billion times more fun and rewarding so my Pioneers are very dusty! It would be nice to be able to do mixes that are across vinyl and digital tho, as there is a lot of stuff on digital that I may never be able to obtain on wax.

I don’t know about anyone else but a general thought as I compulsively check this thread:
The @ user [number] stuff in here is, while offering quite a lot excellent food for thought, hard to follow and understand the intentions and consistency of reasoning and contribution of.
Thanks to anyone who has registered from other communities at this difficult time but I feel it would generally help this thread to give a relevant user name and generally contextualise why you are here to distinguish yourselves from potential troll behaviour.

I still need to watch it. Waiting for the right time. Need a NYE movie to watch at home together that we haven’t seen before but not sure it’s the right one for that. It was Maestro last year and wasn’t particularly enthralled by that.
Watched Prisoners again last night. Had forgotten what happens. Lots of twists and turns and subterfuge.

I will keep an eye out too. Currently looking for how other forums are discussing it, e.g.: https://www.cookdandbombd.co.uk/forums/index.php?topic=111867.0

Struggling to come to terms with it as others are. All I can say is thank you @Velocio and all my friends on here, IRL and online - especially for keeping me sane during the lockdowns.
All I can think of is a petition, which would likely cross-threshold for getting an answer from the government (10k signatures), but not a debate (100k signatures), but that doesn't seem to offer much of a lifeline.
One thing I'd wager is that a lot of users may not be aware of this yet though. I've messaged users who haven't. I typically look at my /updates/ and occasionally /today/, where I spotted it when bored at work.
Is there a way to broadcast to all users or add a notice to the banner? In the interests of getting onboard with Discord, this would help mobilise.

Small compensation for having to be around anything Arse imvho.
On the theme of decent gigs, I’m very envious of this guy’s idea: https://www.instagram.com/thepaddedseat

I think the first thing I ever saw her in was The Hole. Don't recall it being especially good. Now that I'm reminded Laurence Fox is in it, I don't want to check.

Ha yeah, that is very intriguing.
Apparently there are two movies in production. That one and a second new sequel.
It’s got me thinking about a few other post apocalyptic/dystopian British movies from the last ten years or so that I want to give another watch. Strongly recommend all of these, probably in this order of goodness. Any others to add to the list?
