If you find something, you take it to the police station and they take your details. If the item is not claimed by its rightful owner after 3 months the police contact you and you get to keep it
if you want to keep this bike, and not get kicked off it whilst you ride it around (by angry forumongers) this is the least you can do.
plus, you already have a bike...greedy guts
They do have my details and they know i have it, why is this so hard to understand?
-
oh...thought i was having fun here... but you guys are going mental about nothing. your super moral statements about when a bike is abandoned and when it isn't are ridiculous (CSI...get a grip...) if it wasn't abandoned i wouldn't have considered taking it, but since i can tell it was abandoned i took it, have it my room and will use it, simple as that.
hope that if there's an owner he'll be able to contact me as i won't have trouble handing it back...otherwise it'll just become my next commuter when i get enough money to fit new parts to it.

Wohoo! back online, food was good...
Here you have some more pictures, you can even see that someone had a go with a hacksaw some time ago and that had rusted too! but yes...maybe the level of humidity raised to 600% in two days and all that rust just appeared overnight...
If you see the picture of the bike on my coffee table shining is because i used PEEK, is great, recomend it to your friends! it cleans all the rust stains in two seconds! gotta love it!

I agree with victim of theft.
You do not have the right to take the bike, the police can not grant such authority to you.
Hahaha, can't believe all this bs from you guys...come down...
How do you know police can't authorize someone with good will to re-use a bike to take it if its abandoned? Oh wait...you don't know!
And for future reference: People who want to retrieve ABANDONED property, go to the police station and explain your situation to them, don't ask in this thread as you risk getting bs from people who don't have nothing better to do
-
Let me spell it out for you in a more succinct way.
Gaining the permission of anyone to re-appropriate ownership or property which is not theirs to give away is called theft (Even if you do earn gutter rent working as an "honest barman" in one of this cities fine establishments).
ABANDONED, anyway, if an owner exists he will find out the whereabouts of his frame. re check your concept of stealing i'm sure that that brain of yours would be glad to be given a bit of exercise...don't forget the telekinesis whilst your at it
-
As useful as that blank reply may appear in your tiny mind, would you be able to expand it slightly for those of us with lower telekinetic abilities?
couldn't manage to expand it, so put a link just for you! go practice a bit...telekinesis is really handy! you can come back when your HUGE brain works for something! ;)

I once made the mistake of asking on a specific car forum, the easiest way to brake into my own car after I locked the keys inside. I was told politely to feck off.
You are essentially asking on a bike forum, where people value their bikes, the easiest way to steal one. Think about it.
Was not asking how to steal it though...i was asking how to break the lock of an abandoned bike i've got permission, by the police, to take, quite different.
anyway i've got it now, police know and if there's a rightful owner he'll now how to find me.

£30?
If you're prepared to pay that just buy yourself a frame. If it is genuinely abandoned it will eventually be removed or yes, nicked, but from the hassle you seem to be going to and the obvious concern you have for your rep, i don't see how its worth it and you already say you have a bike so its not like you're in dire need and its a moral tightrope as for all you know the owner could come back for it...
I don't know, it might be worth a bit more than that so buying it off ebay would mean spending at least a couple more score (not even sure, just guessing, colnago are expensive aren't they?), and as i said i think i'm quite exited about bikes at the moment...didn't really expect to get so much trouble for it.
If i can't do it by the end of the week though i probably will just leave it to someone else, in that case i'll give you all the exact location of the frame so you can have a go at that cursed kryptonite
not losing much here...i'm off i don't need lfss randoms to tell me i'm sentenced to go to hell for taking an abandoned frame. I know i'm not stealing and i have a clear mind
