Bit of a delayed post, but would I have spotted @middleofnowhere turning into Englands Lane on Saturday am. If not the bike and the chrome (?) bag looked v familiar

I am genuinely feeling a bit sad about commuting by bike. This morning I saw a bike have to take evasive action to avoid a bus that turned right in front of them, then had a taxi driver deliberately swerve at me because I took exception to his driving me into the kerb on Regents St. My commute is a bit central-London tastic (Oxford Circus, Piccadilly, Trafalgar Sq) but a combination of obvious driver inattentiveness and aggro is starting to make me feel not super happy about my choices.

Some amazing recommendations in this thread.
Have had lots of travel time recently and been on a bit of an audible binge:
The Guest - Emma Cline. Loved this (including the ending, which not everyone did). In my head she was a younger Willa from SuccessionOur wives under the sea - Julia Armfield. Also loved this, horror but not.
This is how you lose the war - El-Mohtar / Gladstone. Definitely worth the internet hype, clever and sparkling
Piranesi - loved this so much and the audible version is read by Chiwetel Ejiofor.
Currently reading Slow Days, Fast Company by Eve Babitz which is meeting my regular need for very Californian reads (See also Cassandra at the Wedding, and a Manual for Cleaning Women - which are very different and very Californian)

Down 71.4 - 68.4 since Jan 3rd. Have spent most of that time ill and pretty sedentary, so suspect it’s mostly muscle wasting! Just started to exercise again so will see whether I can keep a lid on my appetite when it t starts picking up. After years of heavy training I now equate any exertion with a licence to consume unlimited calories, which is probably why I’m in this thread.
Also +1 on BMI. At my lightest I was still within my healthy weight range while being visibly unhealthily thin. I’ve been hovering around overweight for a while - while still wearing small sizes. I don’t think it can deal with tree trunk legs in its calculation

Count me in … am now hovering around 71kg, which is a good 6kg more than I’d like (and a lot more than when I was at my cycling / rowing fittest).
I’d like to get back to 65kg over a couple of months - have lots of experience of cutting weight for lightweight racing, but that was before constant toddler-induced illness, living with someone who couldnt put on weight if they tried and extreme time poverty. Have no idea what will work now.
