Hullo all,
My commute is about to jump up from 10 miles a day to 30miles a day so I blatantly need a new bike innit.
Looking if a) you lot have anything suitable knocking around for sells and b) what you would recommend.
Needs to be all weather friendly, needs to be able to accomodate stuff like panniers and mudguards and sturdy Marathon Plus type tyres.
Preferably WSD but not a deal breaker and sub <£1000.
Go! And ta!

Hello functional thread! I'm after a new do it all geared bike - all weather commuter and touring friendly.
My commute is going to be changing from 10 miles to 30miles a day so need something nippy but kinda relaxed riding position. Needs to be able to accommodate sturdy tyres and mudguards and eyelets. WSD would be good but not a deal breaker.
I have a tendency to love every bike I see/try so some clarity would be appreciated! Current contenders include a Soma Buena Vista, B Twin Triban 540, Brother Kepplar build or a Bobbin Bike Albion...
Looking to spend max £1000.

In the market for a new road bike - got a longer commute on the horizon so needs lugs for panniers etc, space for decent tyres and mudguard.
Sturdy enough for all year round commuting but also something comfortable for touring/mini adventures in the summer.
I've got a 50cm Bianchi Via Narone Dama Bianca atm but it feels a bit on the small size so I think I could size up a bit. I've got quite a long reach so non-WSD frames not ruled out either.
Ta!

Heh. I'm going in Nov for our getting engaged in Bruges anniversary <3
(And Oostende next month for my birthday - mad love for Belgium!
@Cazakstan we'll be driving on both occasions so if you need some beer shopping doing more than happy to oblige in it!

I don't hold out much hope of Chrome responding to me - not even an acknowledgement of a form being submitted so far!
However the good people at Vulpine have got a sample sale on so I've taken a punt on this: http://www.vulpine.cc/Shop/Womens/SAMPLE-SALE/ICAT1087/WOMENS-ORIGINAL-RAIN-JACKET-SALE/ITM1061
Fingers crossed it fits as the biggest they had was medium. Have to say so far I'm loving the couple of bits I've got from Vulpine so far so finger crossed this follows suit.

Ha! I'm on the Chrome website as we speak/type. Have just walked back from the gym this lunchtime and my Pasha is absorbing water now rather than droplets forming and rolling off. If this was a rain "resistant" jacket then fair do's but a waterproof?? It certainly used to be more waterproof. According to their website you've got a years guarantee which again seems a bit shoddy given their ethos/approach
Chrome Industries offers a one year warranty on all our products from
the original date of purchase, as well as a two year warranty on our
Chrome bags, as long as your product was purchased from an authorized
Chrome dealer or from ChromeIndustries.com. If you believe your Chrome
bag, footwear, apparel or socks are defective for any reason, please
submit a warranty claim using the Warranty Claim Form below.e2a harumph. just discovered I paid nearly £90 for it. For that kind of lolly I want it to be waterproof for more than a year!

Couple of Thunder Track related spots yesterday. @kat and @Doctor_Cake heading North up Borough High St and then @lucyh and @laner in Peckham at about 10pm cycling incredibly sedately. Looked like Laner might have even had a pint in his hand??

Was that just the 20 minute assessment @dst or one of the fancier ones on this page? http://www.profeet.co.uk/our-services/footwear/footwear-assessment-fitting

I haven't actually worn them on a bike yet (cos who actually rides bikes these days anyways??) but when I tried them on they were the nicest, softest, non-sausage leg giving bibs I've ever tried on. And a blurry bargain at £40.
Thanks for flagging @hoefla ! Will update when/if I ever ride a bike for more than 30minutes anywhere again ; )

I'm also slow and rubbish at hills but keen! Will watch this thread
