Having a light-ish thinning out for the new season. I'm going to regret letting this go but here it is, a very nice Cliff Shrubb built Geoffrey Butler road frameset.

Size, pretty much square at 22" or 56 if you prefer (ctc), between the rear dropouts 25 mm. Original paint (I'd call it porcelain white) is very good and it has the older, nice, Geoffrey Butler script on the downtube. 531 throughout, no dents, few chips and rubs - built up would look very nice.

Comes with BB. I'd like £125 for it, I'm happy to pack it but prefer buyer to arrange collection.

I was thinking of Geoff (Roberts) tutored by his Dad Charlie, and building from the age of 14.
No disrespect to Winston, he was at Holdsworth before Roberts (I believe). I a little fussy about details, would not have posted if very had been used instead of most!

A nice frameset, but I challenge your claim:..built by the most experienced framebuilder...and good luck with the sale Osteovelo.

Surprised someone hasn't snapped this up.

Geoff (Roberts) is without peer in the frame building business, see some builders frames in raw steel - glossy paint hides a multitude of sins.
Wouldn't tolerate that treatment from MR.

Glen's track bike is amazing when you consider how old it is, recently restored by Geoff (Geoff and Glen are old buddies). Yes, it is legit, I'm compiling details on Geoff's collection.

Stunning day, some lovely people turned with superb examples of Roberts bicycles and to enjoy the sunshine, talking to fellow owners and to Geoff Roberts of course, and to enjoy the BBQ and cold beers. Many rode to Geoff's place too.
The track bike in the first two images is the very machine Glen Mitchell's 1980 Moscow Olympics machine that he competed (at the age of 22) on in the team pursuit: a real weight weanie and the second image shows the aero tubes (made by Roberts during the Anerley period).

In the good old days no chainstay bridge would indicate a TT frame (yours is short wheelbase), my almost identical frame is an audax so bigger clearances and shallower head tube angle
Does the frame have a chain keeper on the seatstay (?), I see it has a pump boss on the headtube - which seems a little contrary !

About £200 (or thereabouts for a fork), why a straight blade fork - guard eyes and rack mounts on the rear end then ?

Here's one but without the fork (I have the fork): shortly to go to Geoff (Roberts) for restoration. Almost certainly built by Winston sometime around the mid 1980s (although no build records remain).

I rarely sell stuff but I do have a lugless Hobbs of Barbican (F&F) - one owner from new. Has Lytaloy seat post clamp too. I'll measure if interested (needs full resto though and in super rare orange flambuoyant paint).

Modern Roberts ? Geoff will build you one.
