Going back to the HRV thing, the Garmin reddit indicates most users saw a drop in October/November without illness or lifestyle change which indicates Garmin did something with their algorithm. Whoop will have their own one. I use a Polar but they should all be measuring the same thing. Polar only measures it during sleep, too.

The drones over New Jersey thing is hilarious. Go on Reddit UFOs and just have a browse.
Lots of people hearing the Pentagon say “it’s not US military or one of our adversaries and we don’t believe they pose a threat” and immediately jumping to the conclusion that it’s non-human intelligence. Completely glossing over that the statement doesn’t mention private sector.
I’m guessing it’s being used as a demonstration to certain countries that are practicing heavy drone warfare right now. Stir up a bit of a buzz and get the “ITS ALIENS” people all riled-up online - message delivered.
Either that or they’ve lost something (GLOMAR) again.

HRV is individual and more trend data than high score based. If 38 is baseline for you, then lower or higher might indicate fatigue or illness or a beer.
Mine PLUMMETS if I drink any alcohol or am fighting off yet another child illness.
When you say your resting HR is 57, is that as soon as you wake up or just throughout the day? That’s pretty in-range for a healthy someone of that age.

After the Abingdon marathon, I kind of ended up in another build phase and have been doing more hill/speed work in the weeks since. I’d been so careful in the build to that race that I basically just did a load of zone 2 and just enough speed to be comfortable pushing for sub 3 but was very nervous of injury, so have thrown caution to the wind slightly and went out on a solo time trial this morning to see what it’s done.

That’s such a good point about different levels of “begginer” if your VO2 max is already high.
Also @ghostface, as Salad mentioned stretching isn’t necessarily for everyone - in fact there’s some data to suggest it increases injury risk, perhaps through additional mobility where some stiffness would keep you in check. It’s not black and white, basically.
This is coming from someone who’s warm down routine is often getting through the door and immediately sitting on a Teams call on an awful chair on a wonky floor 😂 -
